     Norma Jean Conner Norma Jean Smith, 83, of Reidsville, NC went to be with the Lord Friday September 11, 2020 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital Greensboro, NC. Graveside Services will be conducted in Thompsonville Baptist Church Cemetery. A native of Henry County, VA, she was a daughter of the late Opie Roosevelt and Hattie McCrickard Conner and had lived most of her life in Rockingham County. She was a former employee of Glen Raven Mill and later worked in the cafeteria of Williamsburg Elementary School. She was member of Thompsonville Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for the 3 and 4 year olds, and helped with Bible School. Jean was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Crystal Ann Smith, a sister: Thalia Horsley and a brother: Ernest Conner. Survivors include her husband of 65 years: Earl C. Smith of the home, daughters: Teresa S. Land and husband Mark, and Janice S. Willard and husband Randy both of Reidsville, sons: Terry Smith and wife Ruby May and Mark Smith and wife Angie both of Reidsville, a brother: Raymond Conner and wife Joan of Ridgeway, VA, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.⁶ She was buried at Thompsonville Baptist Church Cemetery, Reidsville, Rockingham Co., North Carolina.⁶ She was born on August 22, 1937 at Henry Co., Virginia.⁷ As of November 24, 1955,her married name was Smith.² She married Earl Cleatus Smith on November 24, 1955 at Chesterfield, Chesterfield Co., South Carolina.^6,8,2 Norma Jean Conner died on September 11, 2020 at Greensboro, Guilford Co., North Carolina, at age 83.⁶
