     Darrell Wayne Link Darrell Wayne Link, 49, of Roanoke passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronnie and Kitty Link; and a brother, Jim Link. Darrell was a graduate of Patrick Henry High School. He was an avid outddoorsman with a special love of hunting, fishing, camping, and driving the country roads of Floyd County. He was an accomplished entertainer and excellent grillmaster. He was the owner and operator of D.W. Link Landscaping and was a member of the Moose Lodge. Surviving are his fiancee' Kim Lawrence; beloved dog, Daisy May Link; second mother, Pat Heaton; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, neighbors, and friends too numerous to mention. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to American Heart Association or the Angels of Assisi. A celebration of Darrell's life will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, September 2, 2019 at Lamp Light Baptist Church 4307 Rock Garden Lane by the Rev. She is survived by a son, Terry Wright of Roanoke; a daughter, Kathleen Wright and son-in-law, Robert Smiley of Goochland; a daughter, Martha Wright of Rosewell, Ga; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Jean Hall and Estelle Wright of Shawsville and Garnett Ross of Salem. Mrs. Wright was a member of Belmont United Methodist Church for 56 years and was active in community service organizations. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Belmont United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sam McPhail officiating. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. Surviving are his wife, Ruby Bones Wright; son, Terry Wright, Roanoke; two daughters, Martha Wright, Centreville, and her beloved daughter, Katherine Wright, and Kathleen (Kathy) Wright and her husband Bob Smiley, Goochland; two step-grandsons, John and Scott Smiley; one brother and sister-in-law, Wilford and Mary Wright; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Eugene Hall; sister-in-law, Estelle Wright; also numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Belmont United Methodist Church, 12 noon, Thursday, December 11, 1997, with the Rev. Sam E. McPhail officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Oakey's Vinton Chapel on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on December 10, 1997.²
