     June Millie Buttrick June Buttrick Jones, 83, of Valdosta, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 29, 2013, peacefully in her sleep after a lengthy illness, at the Heritage House Nursing Home. She was born December 27, 1929 in Oak Hill, WV, a daughter of the late Frank and Minnie Epperly Buttrick. In her adult life she made her home in Valdosta. In her earlier years, Ms. Jones worked at the bag plant of Owens-Illinois, later becoming a Traveling Supervisor for Pic-N-Save before retiring. In her retirement she enjoyed fishing with her husband, DeWitt Jones, spending time at their home in Suwanee, FL, and she also enjoyed Gospel music. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church for many years. She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Patricia Sirmans and Winston of Valdosta, Fonda Faye Melton of Moultrie, and Brenda Jane Fogarty of Valdosta; one special son, Franklin Jones of Valdosta; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; one sister, Zelphia Smith of Charlotte, NC; and a special friend, Shirley Powers of Valdosta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, DeWitt Jones; two son-in-laws, Bob Melton and Jimmy Fogarty; one great-grandson; six sisters; and three brothers. She was a Faithful Servant; she was a loving wife, Mother and Grandmother. Her home was always open to anyone that needed a place to stay, and for all who knew her, she was a Lady with a lot of class and dignity and a heart of gold. She is survived by her sons, Don Hollyfield at home and Bill Hollyfield and his wife, Natalie, of Charleston; one brother, Fred Canaday and his wife, Ann, of Dunbar; one sister, Lakie Wood Clower and her husband, Bernard, of Princeton; daughter-in-law, Susan Hollyfield of Lynchburg, Va; and two granddaughters, Mindi Hollyfield of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Meredith Hollyfield Eaker of Forest, Va. Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Phillip Shields officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park. on March 1, 2013.2
