He also was preceded in death by his sons, Roy and Timothy Perdue; by a brother, Golden Perdue; and by a sister, Lorraine Perdue. Mr. Perdue was a retired coal miner, having worked at Maple Meadow Mining. He was a member of the UMWA Local #1961. Mr. Perdue was a U.S. Army veteran, and was a member of the Family of God Church in Lookout. Mr. Perdue had made his home at Lookout, since 1998, having previously resided in Sophia. Surviving: his wife, Rita Biggs Perdue; his children, Teddy Perdue and his wife, Linda, of Cherryville, N.C., Pamela Garrison and her husband, Dean, of Lookout, and Belinda Armstrong and her husband, John, of Lookout; his brothers, Jesse Perdue of Lick Creek, Larry Perdue of Williamsburg, Va., and Marvin, Mike, and Joe Perdue, all of Portsmouth, Ohio; his sisters, Nora Roberts and Emma Roberts, both of Lincoln County; grandchildren, Anna Garrison, Janina Schoolcraft, Melissa Perdue, Jeremy Perdue, and Zackary Ransom; and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kyndal, Sydney, and Carter James Perdue. Funeral services were Sept. 25 at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley, with Pastor Ken Souder officiating. Burial followed at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. on September 30, 2009.⁴
