Holt, 69, of Little Hurricane Road, Martinsville, died Wednesday morning at Morgan Hospital & Medical Center. Mr. Holt was born Sept. 2, 1935, in Limestone, Tenn., and was a son of the late Nellie Elizabeth (Rowles) and Charles Austin Holt. He was a 1956 graduate of Washington College Academy in Washington County, Tenn. On June 14, 1957, he was married to the former Diana Tignor. Mr. Holt was owner of Holt's Masonry for 37 years, both in Indianapolis and Martinsville. His family noted that he was deeply loved and will be missed. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son: W. Charles "Chuckey" Holt of Martinsville; a daughter: D. Lynne (Holt) Shaw of Miamisburg, Ohio; two granddaughters: Jordan Shaw and Kelsey Shaw; two grandsons: Adam Holt and Sean Holt; a brother: Paul Holt of Bluff City, Tenn; three sisters: Reba Ruth of Gainesville, Ga., Ruth Bible of Greeneville, Tenn., and Shirley Daniels of Johnson City; six nieces: Joan L. Roller, Kathy N. Ross, Janet M. Johnson, Beth Holt-Moreau, Jackie Isabell, and Missy Holt; and three nephews: Michael J. Ruth, Greg Holt, and J. Sam Daniels. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Raymond Holt and Marshall Holt. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the home. The body will be cremated. There will be a memorial service at a later date in Limestone. on September 26, 2004.³

Holt, 69, of Bluff City, died Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born in Limestone, Tennessee, a son of the late Charles and Nellie Elizabeth Rowles Holt. Mr. Holt was a member of the Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church, where he served on the finance committee and was a member of the United Methodist Men. He was a member of the Bristol Country Club where he was an avid golfer. Mr. Holt had worked for Dominion Bank, First Union Bank and most recently for Bank of Tennessee until his retirement. He was a former member of the Bristol Chamber of Commerce. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Mary L. Hughes Holt; his son, Greg W. Holt and his wife, Robin, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; his three sisters, Reba Ruth, of Gainesville, Georgia, Ruth Bible, of Greeneville, Tennessee, and Shirley Daniels and her husband, Sam, of Johnson City, Tennessee; his two step grandchildren, Jamison Housewright and Ashlee Tittle and her husband, Chris; his one special step great grandson, Eli Tittle; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:45 Thursday evening, February 14, 2008, at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 8 O'Clock with Pastor Mike Ogle officiating. Committal and entombment will be held at 11 O'Clock Friday morning, February 15, 2008 in Glenwood Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Mr. Holt's golfing buddies from the Bristol Country Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church, 1041 Elizabeth Chapel Road, Bluff City, Tennessee, 37618. on February 14, 2008.²
