He then attended the General Electric training school in Schenectady, N.Y., and worked for Indianapolis Power and Light before moving to Portland in 1941. An electrical engineer, he worked for the Bonneville Power Administration for 31 years, retiring in 1972. In 1970, he received a distinguished service award and gold medal for his work planning the Oregon-California power intertie. He moved to Mesa, Ariz., in 1978, and to Wilsonville in 1994. In 1941, he married Catherine Matson. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Caryanne Conner of Portland and Jane Rackley of Lake Oswego; and four grandchildren. Interment will be in Portland Memorial Mausoleum. The family suggests remembrances to Legacy VNA Hospice. on January 20, 1999.²
