For many years, Anne had been the beloved driver of schoolbus #32 for the Nelson County Public Schools and served in the school cafeteria. She was also a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, John Douglas Painter Sr; sons, Thomas Henry Adams (Lisa), John Douglas Painter Jr., Curtis Stephen Painter (Tara), Ronald Ray Painter (Misty), Timothy Lynn Painter (Pam) and Joseph Lee Painter (Linda); a daughter, Susan Painter Wright (Joe); brothers, Charlie Lee Adams (Marion) and Elwood Adams (Jean); a sister-in-law, Doris Bryant Reynolds; an aunt, Jessie Adams; 22 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Pollard "Buddy" Adams, Jr. and a granddaughter, Alexis Morgan Dillard. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her loving caregivers, who attended to her at Lovingston Health Care Center. Burial following in the Painter Family Cemetery. on September 22, 2011.2

Betty Shannon Funeral services for Betty Shannon Showalter, 51, will be held in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Interment will follow at Lee’s Cemetery, Lugoff, SC. Mrs. Showalter died Tuesday, March 9, 2010. Born in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of Regina Starnes Shannon Morin and the late Otis Ernest Shannon. She was a member of Lake Wateree Baptist Church; she loved spending time with her grandchildren and loved the outdoors.
