Vance, age 66, of Mount Hope, WV, went to his eternal home on January 14, 2016, after a courageous battle to live. Larry had a double lung transplant June 2015 but unfortunately his body could not fight off the influenza. Born May 15, 1949, on Packs Branch, WV, he was the son of the late John Robert Vance and Laverne Frances Bolt Vance. Larry attended Mount Hope High School, served in the U.S. Army in Korea and returned to West Virginia to start a career as a coal miner. Larry was a member of American Legion in Beckley. He was a Christian and an active member of Packs Branch Baptist Church. Larry's proudest possession, after his wife and granddaughters, was his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was Road Captain for his Hope Rider's Chapter of the CMA in Beckley for several years. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and sister Roberta Phillips of Parsons, WV. He is survived by his brothers Dennis of Herndon, Virginia, Keith of Parsons, WV, Robert of Smithville, Ohio, and Ted of Maple Fork; and his sisters Charlotte of Morganton, NC, Shelby and Barbara, both of Mount Hope. Larry is also survived by his wife and best friend of 48 years, Kathy, his son Wayne (Angie), his daughter Kelly, his three granddaughters Alyssa, Trinity and Laicey and one great-granddaughter Aubrielle. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted Monday, January 18, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, 1901 South Kanawha Street, Beckley, WV. Officiating will be Pastor Samuel Vance. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. on January 17, 2016.¹

WV. Born September 14, 1953, in Mullens, WV, he was the son of the late Edna May Hylton and Isac William Hylton. He resided in Beckley, WV with this loving wire of 40 years, Mary Hylton. He also leaves behind 2 loving daughters and their families, Patricia Fraley of Crab Orchard and son-in-law James Fraley and granddaughter Elisha Fraley; Angie Harrah of Beckley and son-in-law Matthew Harrah and granddaughter Abigail Harrah; siblings include the late Raymond Hylton of Alabama and his wife Linda and son Christopher, the late Teddy Cole of Glen Jean and his wife Janie, Isac Hylton Jr. (Ike) of Charlotte, N.C., and his wife Chip and their daughter Susan, Diane Wampler of Stotesbury and her husband Roger and their children Lisa, Roger Jr., Billy, Timothy, Emily; Margaret Byrge of Beckley and her husband Jim, their children Jimmy, Jody, Michelle, Jason, Josh and Mike Hylton of Salisbury and his wife Rhonda and their daughter Joni; 4 nieces 7 nephews on the wife's side. He worked at Banner Coal Company for 22 years as a miner operator. He loved his job. He also loved NASCAR, fishing and playing golf with his brother Ike on the computer. But most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was a huge family man. He was a very loving, doting husband and a wonderful father and grandfather. He never knew an enemy and anyone that knew Pat loved him. He will be greatly missed. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2012, at Williams Blue Ridge Funeral Home Sophia with Pastor Sam Peterson officiating. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Michael Blevins, Kenneth Wix, John Harvey Cox, Jason Byrge, James Byrge Jr. and Jerry Wall. Friends may gather with the family Friday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. on March 29, 2012.¹

He is survived by his wife, Linda Barker Hylton of Calera, Ala; a son, Christopher Ray Hylton of Chelsea, Ala. Other survivors include three brothers, Isaac William Hylton of Concord, N.C., Mike John Hylton of Salisbury, N.C., and Pat Hylton of Beckley. He is also survived by two sisters, Diane Wampler of Sophia and Margaret Byrge of Beckley. He was preceded in death by his father, Isaac William Hylton, his mother, Edna Hylton, and a brother, Theodore Cole Hylton. Raymond was the owner/operator of Superior Painting, Calera, Ala., and also employed by Toccoa Minerals, Pea Ridge, Ala. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with Rev. Steve Jones and Pastor Steve Logan officiating. Following the services Raymond will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may gather with the family from 1 p.m. until time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. on August 3, 2010.²
