     Danny William Combs Danny William Combs, 75, of Salem, VA passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019. He was born May 31, 1943 in Roanoke VA but was a true Salemite! He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. and Elizabeth Waldron Combs; sister, Faye Divers; and a brother-in-law, Charles Divers. Danny served his country in the US Navy during the Cuban Crisis. He grew up in East Bottom and loved Salem and considered himself a true Salemite. He loved fishing and was a member of the Lurkin Lunkers fishing club. Danny was a truck driver for years and retired from Yellow Freight. He obtained his Million Mile Safety Driver award from the National Safety Council. He was a 32 year member of the Teamsters. Danny is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Judy S. Combs of Salem; children, Lisa C. Turner and husband, Kevin and Dana C. Crouse both of Salem; brother, Donald J. Combs and wife, Judy of Montgomery County; grandson, Joshua Turner and wife, Bailey of Bradenton, FL; and nephews, Adam and Scott Combs both of Montgomery County. Graveside services will be conducted at Cedar Lawn Cemetery followed by Military Rites. The family would like to thank Lewis Gale Medical Center Staff for the loving care given to Danny at a time it was needed most!4 He was buried at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 5070 Cove Road N. W., Roanoke, Virginia.4 He was born on May 31, 1943 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.3,2,4 He married Judith Diane Simmons on February 28, 1964 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.2 Danny William Combs died on May 15, 2019 at Virginia at age 75.4

     Robert Edward Janney was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.2 He was born on March 12, 1928 at Boones Mill, Franklin Co., Virginia.1,2 He married Betty Lee Bailey, daughter of Homer Randolph Bailey and Virginia Ellen Combs, on August 20, 1953 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.1 Robert Edward Janney died on July 17, 1956 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 28.2,3 He Robert Janney was driving east on the truck by-pass in Salem about 5 p.m. A tractor-trailer, driven by Hurley Wallaces 21, Rt. 6, Fayetteville, going west. When the truck started around the curve at the ballpark, brakes were applied and the trailer jack-knifed. The rear of it hit Janney's car. Janney, the seventh person killed on Roanoke County roads this year, died about two hours later in a Roanoke hospital from chest injuries. Janney is survived by his wife, Mrs. Betty B. Janney; a son, Edward Lee, Roanoke County; his father, Robert A. Janney, Roanoke County; two sisters, Mrs. Lois Radford, Salem; Mrs. Margaret Bohon, Roanoke; two brothers, Norris R. Janney, Roaand Emmett R. Janney, Boones Mill. on July 18, 1956.3
