Bailey, age 65, formerly of Florida St., Salem, passed away in a Salem hospital Thursday evening. Surviving are one son, (Buck) R. Bailey, Roanoke; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Childress, Salem; and Mrs. Patricia Correll, Roanoke; two brothers, Raymond Bailey and A. H.      Danny William Combs Danny William Combs, 75, of Salem, VA passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019. He was born May 31, 1943 in Roanoke VA but was a true Salemite! He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. and Elizabeth Waldron Combs; sister, Faye Divers; and a brother-in-law, Charles Divers. Danny served his country in the US Navy during the Cuban Crisis. He grew up in East Bottom and loved Salem and considered himself a true Salemite. He loved fishing and was a member of the Lurkin Lunkers fishing club. Danny was a truck driver for years and retired from Yellow Freight. He obtained his Million Mile Safety Driver award from the National Safety Council. He was a 32 year member of the Teamsters. Danny is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Judy S. Combs of Salem; children, Lisa C. Turner and husband, Kevin and Dana C. Crouse both of Salem; brother, Donald J. Combs and wife, Judy of Montgomery County; grandson, Joshua Turner and wife, Bailey of Bradenton, FL; and nephews, Adam and Scott Combs both of Montgomery County. Graveside services will be conducted at Cedar Lawn Cemetery followed by Military Rites. The family would like to thank Lewis Gale Medical Center Staff for the loving care given to Danny at a time it was needed most!⁴ He was buried at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 5070 Cove Road N. He was born March 13, 1932 in Roanoke, son of the late Joseph P. and Carrie A. Huffman Divers. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Elizabeth Faye Combs Divers; and a brother and a sister. Mr. Divers retired from Graham White, was a member of Temple Baptist Church and enjoyed watching the Golden Girls and Bonanza. He is survived by his dear friends and caretakers, Donald and Judy Combs; and two nephews, Joe Jacobs and Gregory Divers. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. on April 22, 2012.²

She now resides with the Lord in Heaven. She is predeceased by parents, Homer and Virginia Bailey, and husband, Raymond Childress. Betty loved her family and enjoyed cooking and dancing.      Robert Edward Janney was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.² He was born on March 12, 1928 at Boones Mill, Franklin Co., Virginia.^1,2 He married Betty Lee Bailey, daughter of Homer Randolph Bailey and Virginia Ellen Combs, on August 20, 1953 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.¹ Robert Edward Janney died on July 17, 1956 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 28.^2,3 He Robert Janney was driving east on the truck by-pass in Salem about 5 p.m. A tractor-trailer, driven by Hurley Wallaces 21, Rt. 6, Fayetteville, going west. When the truck started around the curve at the ballpark, brakes were applied and the trailer jack-knifed. The rear of it hit Janney's car. Janney, the seventh person killed on Roanoke County roads this year, died about two hours later in a Roanoke hospital from chest injuries. Janney is survived by his wife, Mrs. Betty B. Janney; a son, Edward Lee, Roanoke County; his father, Robert A. Janney, Roanoke County; two sisters, Mrs. Lois Radford, Salem; Mrs. Margaret Bohon, Roanoke; two brothers, Norris R. Janney, Roaand Emmett R. Janney, Boones Mill. on July 18, 1956.³

     Freal Randolph "Buck" Bailey was born on August 15, 1939 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^1,3 He married Nita Dawn Howery on October 16, 1959 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,4 Freal Randolph "Buck" Bailey died on March 8, 2019 at Virginia at age 79.⁴ He Freal (Buck) R. Bailey, 79, of Salem, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019. Buck was a long time member of Bethel Baptist Church where he served as an usher, and was a member of the Baptist Men and Agape Sunday School class. He retired from the Kroger Company following 32 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Virginia Bailey; a sister, Betty Childress; and special sister-in-law, Karen Howery. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nita Howery Bailey; son, James Bailey; grandsons, Tyler and Devin Bailey; great-granddaughter, Nova Bailey; his sister, Patricia Correll and husband Larry; and his special canine friend, Jazzie. A special word of thanks with love to Buck's caregivers, Amanda, Jimmy and Tyler. on March 10, 2019.⁴
