He was a member of VFW Post 1000 and Eagles 3976, both of Independence. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Deoma Noel in 1976, and a daughter, Dorothy Cocayne in 1996. His survivors include a son, Harold E. Noel Jr., Lorena, Texas; four daughters, Carolyn Hardin, Dripping Springs, Texas, Shirley Noel, state of Texas, Margie McCartney, Kansas City, and Karla Smith, Hartford, Ala; 21 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at the George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Eastslope Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Kansas City. Friends may call from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the chapel. on April 14, 1998.²
