Sr. and Fannye Tutt Shay; sisters, Mary Jo Shay, Jean Abshire, Nancy Moore, Martha Ann Pendleton, and Sue Roberts. George proudly served his country in the U S Air Force. He was a longtime member of Northview United Methodist Church. Surviving is his wife of 67 years, Gaynelle Guilliams Shay; daughter, Lisa Fouch (Dwayne); sons, Mark Shay (Sandra), Darin Shay (Tara); grandchildren, Allan Shay, Tim and Matt Shay, Ethan, Keely, and Darby Fouch, and Michael Shay; sister, Carolyn Hale; and numerous nieces and nephews. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.3 He married Elizabeth Gaynelle Guilliams, daughter of Lewis Grady Guilliams and Cecil Cleo Pendleton.1,2,3 George Dewey Shay Jr. was born on November 11, 1936 at Roanoke, Virginia.3,4,5 He died on December 4, 2025 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 89.3
