     Robert Irvin "Bob" Martin Jr. US Air Force SSGT (Ret.) Robert Irvin Martin, Jr., 72, of Morganton, passed away December 2, 2015 at Charles George VA Medical Center Hospice in Asheville. Born July 24, 1943 in Raleigh County, WV, he was the son of the late Robert Irvin Martin, Sr. and Wilma Irene Keffer Martin. Mr. Martin served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He had a passion for riding and working on motorcycles. He was a member of Calvary Assembly of God in Morganton. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Charlotte M. Martin of the home; son, David Martin of LaFayette, GA; sisters, Linda Irene Martin of VA, Nancy Martin Cornett (Wayne) of MD, Anita Rose Martin of CA, and Vickie Lynn Thurston (Mike) of MA; nieces and nephews, Randy Buklin, Anita Eggleton (Russ), Christi Austin (Jack), Sarah Gallucci (Dan), Julie Allen (Geordan), James Katz (Lux), Ashley Saiyan (Will), and Cynthia Thurston; and great-nieces and nephews, Ariana, Alexa, Leah, Kyle, Emma, Isaac, Aveliene, Johnny, Ogden, Syler, Vykter, and Logan. A funeral service with military honors will be held at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.³ He was buried at Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 962 Old US 70 Highway, Black Mountain, Buncombe Co., North Carolina.^3,4 He was born on July 24, 1943 at Raleigh Co., West Virginia.^2,3,4,5 He married Charlotte Marie Vance, daughter of John Robert Vance and Laverne Frances Bolt, on July 14, 1982 at Pearisburg, Giles Co., Virginia.^1,2 Robert Irvin "Bob" Martin Jr. died on December 2, 2015 at Asheville, Buncombe Co., North Carolina, at age 72.^3,4,5
