     Monroe Allen Hedrick Pastor Monroe Allen Hedrick, 84, of Christiansburg, VA, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on February 19, 1941, he was the son of the late Chester and Cleo Graham Hedrick. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Hedrick, and sister, Roberta Jean Hedrick Jacob. Monroe is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Lois Hines Hedrick; son, Gregory Allen Hedrick (Kimberly), of Christiansburg; his daughter, Suzanne Marie Hedrick of Roswell, GA; his siblings, Guy Hedrick of Saline, MI, and Mary Ruth Worley, of Cincinnati, OH; his grandchildren, Lindsay Burch (Cole), Jonathan Hedrick (Victoria), Joshua Hedrick (Effie), LilyJun Hedrick, and Jadon Hedrick; his great-grandchildren, Eliyanah Hedrick, Josie Hedrick, Patrick Burch, Briella Hedrick; as well as many beloved extended family members. Monroe was born in Jonesville, VA, where he met and married the love of his life, Lois, to whom he was married for 64 years. He graduated from Flatwoods High School in Lee County, VA, completed a Bachelor of Science at Union College in Barbourville, KY, and a Master of Divinity at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Monroe was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was the founding pastor of Trinity Community Church (Trinity Baptist), where he faithfully served for 42 years before retiring in 2011. Following his retirement, he remained actively involved as pastor Emeritus for as long as he was able. Monroe, raised on a farm, was a skilled outdoorsman and athlete with a passion for various sports, including hunting, fishing, baseball, basketball, golf, and tennis. Most notably, Monroe was deeply devoted to his faith in Jesus Christ and spreading the Word of God around the world. Graveside Services will be in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. The family wishes to thank Monroe’s caregivers at Pulaski Health and Rehabilitation, Good Samaritan Hospice, and Debbie Carroll.3 He was buried at Sunset Cemetery, 501 South Franklin Street, Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.3 He was born on February 19, 1941 at Jonesville, Lee Co., Virginia.1,2 He married Lois Kay Hines, daughter of Otis Monroe Hines and Nina Marie Reese, on December 24, 1961 at Jonesville, Lee Co., Virginia.1,3 Monroe Allen Hedrick died on November 10, 2025 at Virginia at age 84.3

He was preceded in death by two brothers. He served in the Marines during World War II. He worked at Admiral Corp. and served as vice president and director of manufacturing from 1951 to 1973. He worked at Midwest Control Products in Bushnell from 1976 to 1984, serving as vice president of quality control. He later returned to Admiral, now Maytag Corp., where he retired in 1990 from the manufacturing and engineering department. He served as treasurer for the Prairie Wood Environmental Coalition and was a member and secretary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2257. He also belonged to the Maytag Management Club. He was a charter member of Antique Aircraft and was a founding member of the Country Music Association. He attended the University of Illinois and was attending Carl Sandburg College. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Hinchliff-Pearson- West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. Ernest Pizzamiglio and David Beversdorf will officiate. Burial will be in Knoxville Cemetery, with military honors performed by his VFW post. on December 27, 1995.3

Delbert was born Feb. 2, 1928, in Jonesville, Va., the son of Marvin and Viola Haines Eagle. Delbert married Kathryn Sams in Las Vegas in July 1978. She survives of Galesburg. Also surviving are his children, Cheryl (Dan) Koeritz of Wheaton, Brad (Melodie) Eagle of Victoria, and Richard (Ruth) Eagle of Altona; stepdaughter, Sandy Meinhart of Knoxville; and stepson, Steve (Debbie) Powers of Mahomet. He also is survived by a sister-in-law, Janet Eagle of Henderson; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Burl Eagle, James Eagle and Kenneth Eagle. He was reared and educated in Altona. After high school, he joined the Navy at the end of World War II. He worked for Gale Products for more than 30 years as a foreman. He was a member of both Knoxville and Altona Masonic lodges and also a member of the NRA. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid gun collector. Per his request, cremation rites will be accorded and there will be no services. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Altona. on August 3, 2011.4
