He attended Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church in Oak Hill. Matt loved to fish and hunt and fish with his son, Dalton. He had gone on a hunting expedition to Africa in the spring of 2007. He also encouraged his daughter, Miranda to do her best in soccer and softball. He was always the life of the party. Survivors include wife, Angelia "Juanita" Sharp Jones; his children, Calvin Matthew "Dalton" Jones and Angelia "Miranda" Danielle Jones both at home and a brother, Larry Jones and wife, Mary of Minden. Also surviving are an aunt, Gloria Bostic of Beckley, uncle, Joe Jones of Spencer; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gary and Angie Sharp of Minden; brother-in-law, J.B. Sharp and wife, Robin of Minden; nephew, Mark Pizzino and his, son Jack and wife, Vickie; nephews Tre and Wyatt Sharp of Kentucky and all his "kids" at the Oak Hill Little League and Fayette County Soccer Association. Services will be on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Daniel Rice officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 6:00 Pm until 8:00 PM. Dalton Jones, Jimmy Harrah, Ronnie McClannahan, John Joines, J.B. He had attended NIT at Cross Lanes. Previously he had worked at Kroger, Montgomery Ward, John W. Eye and in the warehouse at Sear's. Surviving: his mother, Mildred Treadway Lewis of Lester; sisters, Joyce (Kenneth) Carpenter, Donna Caughlin and Patricia (Frank) Mason, all of Lester; nieces, April (Greg) Mitchem and Kymber Mason; and nephews, Michael, Zachary and Daniel Carpenter, Ronnie Allen and Tyler Mason. Funeral services were held May 10 at his residence, with Rev. Brian McCallister officiating. Burial followed at the Lewis Family Cemetery at the home place. on May 15, 2013.2

Scott is survived by his father, Madison F. King "Mack," of Roanoke, Va; mother, Gayle W. Thornton and stepfather, Malcolm Thornton, of Christiansburg, Va; daughters, Ashley K. Looney and husband, Scott Looney, Stephane A. King "Sissy" and partner, Allison Reed, Katlyn C. King "Katie," Madison S. King "Maddy," and Martha G. King "Marle;" and his one and only grandson and namesake, William Scott Looney, all of whom are from Roanoke, Va. There are also numerous cousins and extended family. Scott was a graduate of Blacksburg High School, where he was a star athlete in football and basketball. He then attended college in Tallahassee, Fla., at Florida State University. Scott loved all sports and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. He was always in attendance at any of his girls' sports activities and always their biggest fan. He had a heart of gold and cared for all that crossed his path. Scott was a wonderful son and father who loved his family with all his heart. He could light up a room with his smile and brighten any day with his warm hugs. Scott never told his five girls how to live, he instead showed them, always loving and accepting all of their different personalities. Dad will be greatly missed, fondly remembered and forever loved (you know). Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg, Va. on May 11, 2011.3
