The funeral will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with the Rev. C. S. Donnelly in charge. Burial will be in High Lawn Memorial Park. on March 16, 1973.³

Mrs. Biggs was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women's Circle. She was a member of the Women Of the Moose Chapter 911. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex C. Biggs in 2000 and also by two brothers and two sisters. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Jim Nuchols of Covington; three grandchildren, Paige and Larry O'Dell of Minford, OH; Ronnie and Brady Nuckols of Covington and Gary and Lori Nuchols Minford, OH; four great grandchildren: Carson Stokes; Chris Brookman; Miguel Brookman and Jasmine Teter; one sister-in-law, Louis Warf of Clifton Forge; and a special niece, Sue Warf of Covington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorsey Kezzle Stogdale Jr. in 1992. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Mrs. William (Rebecca) Knick of Mooresville, N.C., Mrs. Fremont (Betty Jo) Vess of Roanoke; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Nancy Stogdale Sr. of Selma; two sisters and brother-in-law, Mildred and Rex Biggs of Covington and Louise Warf of Clifton Forge; one brother, J. K. Cornell of Covington; three sisters-in-law, Ruby Stogdale, Hazel Worley and Lena Van Buren; seven grandchildren, Ricky Stogdale, Andrea Vess, Jennifer Vess, Steve Knick, Lisa Knick, Michelle Knick and Melissa Knick; a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with the Rev. Jack Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Alleghany Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be nephews and the family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home. on September 1, 1995.²

     Louise Nettie Cornell Louise Cornell Warf, 93, of 836 Gardner Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, passed away Friday, June 14, at LewisGale Alleghany Hospital. She was born May 5, 1920, in Glen Wilton, a daughter of Joseph C. and Susie E. Cornell. Her family later moved to Covington, where she lived until 1943 when she and her husband, Robert E. Warf moved to Clifton Forge. She resided at her home on the Heights for more than 68 years. She was a homemaker, the oldest female member of her beloved First Christian Church in Clifton Forge, where she was a long time youth and adult Sunday school teacher, member of the Christian Women's Fellowship and a member of the Rose Tatum Circle. She was a charter and life member of the Founder's Auxiliary of the Clifton Forge Rescue Squad and a life member of the Auxiliary to the Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads. But above all, she was a loving mother to Sue, Robert and David, a mother-in-law to Joan and Kathy, grandmother to Jennifer, Martin, Doug and Julia, and a great grandmother to Thomas. She served as a docent and volunteer at the Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts Center, for many years a volunteer for the American Red Cross bloodmobile, as a member of the Clifton Forge Woman's Club, and a member of the PPP Sewing Circle, a group of friends who met at least monthly. Her husband preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 1991. She was also predeceased by two brothers, John K. Cornell and Philip A. Cornell; by three sisters, Lena Claytor Smith, Mildred C. Biggs, and Edith C. Stogdale. She is survived by her daughter, B. Sue Warf of Covington, and two sons, Robert E. Warf and wife, Joan of Charlotte, NC, and David L. Warf and wife Kathy of Winston-Salem, NC. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jennifer Warf Knowlton and husband, Timothy of Charlotte, D. Martin Warf and wife, Sara of Cary, NC, Douglas Cornell Warf and wife, Crystal of Raleigh, NC, and Julia B. Warf of Charlotte, and one great grandchild, Martin and Sara's 18-month-old son, Thomas. She was excited this past week to hear that Jennifer and Tim are expecting twin boys in November. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, 405 Alleghany Street, Clifton Forge. Friends may call any time at the residence of 836 Gardner Street. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church, the corner of Church Street and McCormick Boulevard in Clifton Forge with the Rev. Glenn Clements and the Rev. Michael Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Alleghany Memorial Park.
