Clara Carter, on February 7, 1949 at Pearisburg, Giles Co., Virginia.1,4,3 Virginia Ruth Johnston died on December 14, 2001 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia, at age 77.2,5,3 She PRINCETON - Mrs. Virginia Ruth Noble, 77, was escorted through Heaven Gates early Friday morning, Dec. 14, 2001 from the Princeton Community Hospital to be united with her Lord and Savior. Born April 3, 1924 at Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert J. and Edna Roberts Bratton Johnston. Mrs. Noble graduated from Princeton High School and had attended Concord College in Athens. She had worked for 18 years with the telephone company in Princeton as an operator. She along with her husband, Kenna founded and operated the Princeton Armature Company on the Old Pisgah Road in Princeton for over 20 years. She was a member of the Women’s United Methodist group of the church. Virginia was devoted to her husband, loved her children, and adored her grandchildren, she was a friend to many a person. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Katherine Snider; and three brothers; Aubrey Eugene Johnston, Frank Rufus Johnston, and Fred William Johnston. Survivors include her faithful husband of 52 years, Kenna D. Noble; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie L. Belcher and husband, Jerry Douglas Belcher Jr. of Princeton, and Barbara Parks and husband, Robert Parks of Milledgeville, Ga; five grandchildren, Kenna William Parks and wife, Lisa, Billy Ray Parks, James Brian Parks and wife, Kathy, Ginny Michelle Treolo and husband, Mike, and Brian Douglas Belcher; step great-grandson, Jamey; and one brother, James Edwin Johnston Gibson of Fernandina Beach, Fla. The family acknowledged that they were blessed to have had many helping hands during Mrs. Noble’s illness, special friends that cared and helped were Charlotte Mills, Helen Abshire, Thelma Thomas, Boots Waddell, Regina Stull, Alma Belcher, Heather Allen, Georgia Bailey, Karen Watts, Ann Howard, and Ruth Albert. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with the Rev. Brian Long officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Courthouse Road in Princeton. Pallbearers will be Tim Howard, Jerry Belcher, Don Meadows, Don Stull, Kermit Wiley, and Nick Wiley. on December 16, 2001.3

She also graduated from Mercer County Vocational Center Nursing Class. She loved outdoors and her animals. She was of the Baptist faith. She worked as an LPN in the Milledgeville area. She was devoted to her job. Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia R. Noble. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. Survivors, in addition to her father, include her husband, Robert Parks; sons, Kenny Parks and wife Lisa of Milledgeville, Billy Parks of Morgantown, James (Jimbo) Parks of Milledgeville; grandson, Jamey Parks; sister, Jackie Belcher and husband Jerry Jr. of Princeton; niece and nephew, Ginny Belcher and Brian Belcher; special aunts and uncles, Charlotte Mills of Princeton, Billy Noble and wife Betty of Princeton, Daniel J. Noble of Princeton. Her wishes were to be cremated, so her wishes will be followed as she wished. on December 12, 2006.3

Survivors include, in addition to his mother, one son, Adam Abshire of Princeton; one daughter, Rebecca Ann Abshire of Pipestem; several aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 27, from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton, with Reverend Charles Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Courthouse Road in Princeton. on April 26, 1998.5
