He died at 5:10 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007, in Logansport Memorial Hospital. Born June 14, 1913, in Plymouth, he was the son of Harry and Nettie Crawford Hampton. Mr. Hampton was a retired linotype operator. Surviving are daughter, Jean Swisher, Logansport; son, Edward “Bud” Hampton and his wife, Nikki, Fall City, Ore; six grandchildren, Patti Steinberger and Michael Swisher, both of Logansport, Mark Swisher, Rockford, Ill., and Jay Hampton, Jeff Hampton and Josh Hampton, all of California; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. One grandson and three brothers preceded in death. The Rev. Scott Ellison will officiate. She was an active golfer, even after she was 90 years old. Her indomitable spirit is a lasting legacy for her family. She was the mother of Alta Clark of Hollister, and Sue Clark of Picton, Ontario, Canada. She is also survived by her sisters and brother, Leota Marie Good of Detroit, MI, Martha Amanda Gline of MI, and Donald Gene Mitchell of IN; her grandchildren and their spouses, Thomas Clark Mohamed (Teresa Marie), Terrie Sue Walsh (Thomas), Kellie Lynn Curtis, Stacie Alice Curtis, Roberta Lee Curtis, Sharon Mae Weinstein (Steven Price), Laura Ellen Weinstein, Mobee Eileen Weinstein (Ahmet Sumer) and Gary Dale Silacci (Lisa); sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Anita Martin, of Hanford, and is survived by her son-in-law, John Martin of Hanford. "Anita was selfless, caring more for family and friends than for herself," the family said. In addition to her husband, John N. Martin, she is survived by a son, Gary D. Silacci of Dayton; a stepson, John Martin of Hanford, Calif; stepdaughter, Buffi Martin of Hanford, Calif; her mother, Donna Mae Clark of Hollister, Calif; two sisters, Alta M. Clark of Hollister, Calif., and Sue Clark of Picton, Ontario, Canada; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. on December 7, 2006.6

During his time in Tillamook, he was an FFA coach, a member of TCCA (Tillamook County Creamery Association), and YFR (Young Farmer Ranchers), as well as an ODFA president. His second and third children, Henry Christopher Silacci and Kathryn Brooke Silacci, were born in Tillamook. Gary and Ramona divorced in 1988. He was remarried to Lisa Martin in September of 1989. During the year of 1992, he relocated to Zillah, Washington, where he continued dairying. He also welcomed his fourth and fifth children, Gary Dale Silacci JR. and Megan Fae Silacci, while living there. From Zillah he moved back to Hanford, CA, where he had a hoof trimming business and worked for Penny Newman. His sixth and youngest child, Madeline Mae Silacci, was born in Hanford. In 1996 Gary took a dairy service and route salesman, in Laurelwood, Oregon. He continued with that job until 1997, when he began working for Veterinarian Pharmaceuticals Incorporated. In 2000 he and his family moved to Dayton, OR. He continued to work for VPI until 2005, when he began working for Lextron Inc. In July of 2007 he moved to Dalhart TX, where he lived until June of 2015. During his time in Dalhart he shared ownership and managed a milk hauling business, Golden Wolf Express. He also shared ownership with his son, Gary JR., in a whey hauling business, Panhandle Dairy Specialties. Superstar Coffee Company, where he enjoyed chatting and making friends with customers, was another venture that he shared with his wife Lisa. Gary also enjoyed attending his children's high school sporting events as Dalhart Golden Wolf athletes. In June of 2015 he relocated back to Oregon where he could be closer to his children and grandchildren. His final months were filled with ultimate joy as he spent time with his 8 grandchildren, and in anticipation of his 9th. Above all of his accomplishments Gary took most pride in his large family and the love they all shared. Gary is preceded by his mother and father. Gary is survived by his wife, his children and their spouses and grandchildren. on February 23, 2016.4
