Bobby was a lifelong resident of the Peninsula. He was an amazing athlete and was owner/operator of Bobby Burcher Electric. He was also a good friend and mentor to many through the years. Bobby is survived by his wife, Laura Burcher; stepchildren Donald, Dale, Gary, Sylvia, Jennifer and Heather McGuire; a brother, David Burcher; sisters, Patti Amos, Debbie Goens, Linda Delauder and Crystal Prosper; seven step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Frances Burcher and a sister, Nancy Kelly. Interment will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park. on May 11, 2015.2

Born April 13, 1934, in Fort Ashby, he was the son of the late Charles Edgar and Wilda Maryland (Zimmers) Kenney. Mr. Kenney was a graduate of Fort Ashby High School and Shepherd College. He had served in the U.S. Navy where he was a payroll clerk. He had lived in Hagerstown for a number of years. During that time, he had been a produce manager for the Safeway grocery store. He then worked for Almeda Construction. He returned to Fort Ashby and worked at his family’s restaurant, Country Roads. He assisted in the kitchen and handled the business office. Survivors include his son, Sean Kenney and wife Wanda, Martinsburg; twin daughters, Tanya Churchey and Kendra Dawson and husband Ken, all of Hagerstown; two brothers, Dean Kenney and wife Karen, Yemassee, S.C., and Douglas Kenney and wife Cynthia, Fort Ashby; three sisters, Kay Meadows and husband Philip, Fort Ashby, Deanna L. Brandt and husband Butch, Ridgeley, and Mary Lou Wagoner and husband Darrel, Fort Ashby; and seven grandchildren. He also will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Philip Dayton officiating. Interment will be in the Fort Ashby Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the local combined veterans honor guard. Serving as pallbearers will be Kay Elder, Sam Barnes, Paul Davis, Ellsworth Leo Henson Jr., Ellsworth Leo Henson III, and Carl Henson. on November 3, 2000.3
