She was preceded in death by her husband Berlin Baker; parents John and Mattie Humphreys; 2 brothers Paul and Lester Humphreys; and 1 great-granddaughter Mattie Baker Downer. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Dolan and Ruth Baker of Williamston, NC; Barton and Judy Baker of Morgantown, WV; Arden and Linda Baker of Covington, VA; grandchildren Dwayne and Douglas Baker, Aaron Baker, Molly Downer, and Ryan Baker; great-grandchildren Rachel, Kailey, Coleman, Brandon, Daniel, Luke, J.J., and Weston Baker. She was baptized at the age of 16 and was a lifetime member of Maple Grove Christian Church for 87 years. She taught Sunday School for over 50 years. Helen was a member of the Ladies Auxillary of Paint Bank Volunteer Fire Department. She was active in the Craig Co. Historical Society and wrote many historical accounts about the Paint Bank Community. Her favorite pastimes were quilting and crocheting. She had numerous friends and neighbors and never met a stranger. Humphreys; daughter, Martha H. Ruble; grandson, Martin Howard Ruble; daughter-in-law, Catherine G. Humphreys; two sisters, Thelma L. Layman and Kate L. Webb; and one brother, W. Frank Lugar. She is survived by a son, H. Thornton Humphreys of Ellijay, Ga; a daughter and son-in-law, George and Inez Craft of Salem, Va; a son and daughter-in-law, Purcell and Sue Humphreys of Daleville, Va; and a son-in-law, Martin D. Ruble of Steilacoom, Wash; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband and soul mate of 60 years, George F. Craft of Salem, Virginia; a daughter, GiGi Craft Hall and husband, Chris, of Roanoke, Virginia; a son, George F. Craft, II and wife, Kim, of Winchester, Virginia; six grandchildren, Krisanna Hall Miller, Chelsey Hall, McKinley Craft, Mary Hunter Craft, Braxton Terry and George F. Craft, III (Trey); and two great-grandchildren, Grayson Miller and Paxton Miller. She was born in Paint Bank, Virginia, on a traditional family farm to Paul and Maude Humphreys. She attended New Castle High School where she met George, her life partner of 60 years. They moved to Roanoke and started their family and careers. Years ahead of her time, juggling work and family, Inez was a devoted wife, loving mother and successful business woman. She spent her career managing the business offices of several automobile dealerships in New Castle and Salem, Virginia. She was an active leader of the American Business Women's Association where she kindled life-long friendships. As a devoted Christian and active member of Melrose Christian Church, she served and worshiped the Lord faithfully. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on January 27, 2016.³

Craft; parents, Howard Allen Craft and Goldie Caldwell Craft; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dreama and Julian Zimmerman, and Barbara and Joe Huffman. He is survived by daughter, GiGi Craft Hall and husband, Chris; son, George F. Craft II and wife, Kim; six grandchildren, Krisanna Hall Miller and husband, Travis, Chelsey Hall, McKinley Craft, Hunter Craft and fiancé, Eric Bagwell, Braxton Terry and wife, Amy, and George F. Craft III (Trey); and two great-grandchildren, Grayson and Paxton Miller. Our family is eternally grateful for our inspirational patriarch. Through his life he has displayed a clear reflection of strength and resilience, rising from a childhood tarnished by polio, paralysis, and death of his father, all at an early, precious time in his life. With fortitude and determination, he was able to persevere, accomplish a successful career at HAJOCA Corporation where he was honored and revered by colleagues, and all the while, provide a nurturing, loving home for his family. We are grateful to have had the gift of his presence in our lives and are comforted knowing he is now standing tall and walking with our Lord.
