Graveside rites and committal service will beat Kincaid Cemetery in Kincaid. Nephews, Joshua Keffer, Christopher Keffer, David Smith, Justin Keffer, Jackson Keffer, and Jeffery Keffer will serve as pallbearers. on September 20, 2013.4

Surviving: wife, Betty Jean Lewis Keffer; sons, John Curtis Keffer Jr. and wife, Tina Martin-Keffer, and James Thomas Keffer, all of Oak Hill; brothers, Lloyd Keffer, Davie Keffer and Burl Keffer, all of Coal City, and Roy Keffer of Wakeman, Ohio; sisters, Fannie Hensley of Chesterland, Ohio, Zelda Wills of Sophia and Ruth Bolen of Coal City; grandchildren, Joshua Keffer, Justin Keffer, Christopher Keffer and Jackson Keffer; stepgrandchildren, Tristan Garten, Tiffany Robinson and Alex Garten; and a stepgreat-grandson, Broc Robinson. Entombment was at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill, with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post No. 3110 of Oak Hill. on December 10, 2008.4
