James Robert “Pyro” Leech James Robert “Pyro” Leech, 42, of Elliston, passed away on Saturday May 6, 2017. He was employed by East Coast Metal Distributors. James served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and served his neighbors as a member of the Elliston Volunteer Fire Department for 26 years and at Hubert NC fire department prior to that. He was preceded in death by his father, William “Wayne” Leech; and sister-in-law, Heather Leech. James is survived by his wife, Christie Taylor Leech; daughter, Sydney Morgan Rector; mother, Sarah J. Leech; sisters, Sara “Jackie” Carneal, Sandra Jones (Ronnie); brother, William Wayne Leech, Jr; nephews, Alijah Everson (Ruriko), Christopher Jones (Crystal), Matthew Jones, Joey Leech (Hillary), Josh Leech; niece, Maddie Carneal; as well as several great-nephews and great-nieces. A Graveside Service with military honors will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin.5 He was buried at Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin, Pulaski Co., Virginia.5,6 He was born on August 17, 1974 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.3,6 He married Crystal Taylor on February 14, 2002 at Roanoke, Virginia.4,5 James Robert “Pyro” Leech died on May 6, 2017 at Virginia at age 42.5,6

He was predeceased by bis grandparents, Bernard Lee Lane and Mr. and Mrs. William Walter Carneal. He was a beloved husband to Sara Jacqueline Carneal; beloved dad to Sara Madeline Mae Carneal "Maddie"; beloved stepfather to Staff Sergeant Ronald "Alijah" Everson; son, William Bernard Carneal III; and daughter-in-law, Ruriko Everson; beloved grandpa to Corey and NHue Everson; beloved grandmother, Nina Mae Lane "Nanny"; five beloved sisters, Judy, Janet, Jamie, Joyce and Julie; father, William Bernard Carneal Sr; mother, Joyce Ellis; and many other family members and friends. Bobby was born and raised in Ashland by his grandparents, Nina and Bernard Lane. He worked for H H Hunt Homes for the past 12 years, where he was a lead framer. Interment to follow in Winn's Baptist Church Cemetery. on January 14, 2005.4
