She was the wife of Rodney Franklin Edwards. Born, Melodie Denise Lowe, on October 3, 1950, in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Staff Sgt. James Edward Lowe, USMC, who died for his family and country in the Korean War, and Joann Ruth (Lowe) Hall. In addition to her loving husband, Rodney, Melodie leaves to cherish her memory the only father she knew and loved, Ret. W.O. Alton D. Hall, USMC, of Cortland, New York, who served his family and country in the Vietnam War; a sister, Mercedes L. Mosby and her husband, Leyburn, of Lynchburg, Virginia; two brothers, James Edward Lowe, Jr., and Brian Scott Hall, of Roanoke; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Melodie attended Brookville High School in Lynchburg, Virginia, and graduated from Swansboro High School, Swansboro, N.C., in 1968. She was an employee of Hanover Direct in Roanoke, where she will be remembered and missed by many friends and co-workers on January 15, 2008.3

     Phyllis Ann Fisher Phyllis Ann Fisher Borden, 71 of Pembroke Pines, Florida passed away October 27, 2016. She was born on September 21, 1945, in Roanoke, Virginia. Phyllis Borden worked in the medical field as a medical transcriptionist and excelled at having her own business. She was previously married to Timothy Ira Borden. Phyllis was a member of The Local Garden Club, Focal Point Community and The Orchid Society. She loved her family and her 3 beautiful grandchildren (Emilio, Michael and Alexandra). She enjoyed yoga, gardening, meditation and sitting by the ocean on the beach. She would visit Sanibel Island every year. Phyllis lived a life of genuine kindness and treated others as she wished to be treated. She was predeceased by her father: Charles William Fisher and mother, Rachel Boyd Wilkerson Fisher, and younger brother Curtis Fisher. She is survived by her older brother: Charles Fisher who resides in Ocala, Florida; Her son: Timothy James Borden who resides in Sarasota, Florida; Her daughter: Lynnette Ann Borden-Marrero and son-in-law, Miguel Angel Marrero; Grandchildren: Emilio Marrero, Michael Alexander Marrero and Alexandra Ann Marrero who all reside in Cooper City, Florida.2 She was born on September 21, 1945 at Roanoke, Virginia.2,3 As of July, 1967,her married name was Borden.4 She married Timothy Ira Borden in July, 1967 at Dade Co., Florida.2,4 Phyllis Ann Fisher and Timothy Ira Borden were divorced on August 5, 1987 at Broward Co., Florida.2,5 Phyllis Ann Fisher died on October 27, 2016 at Florida at age 71.2
