     Evan Luther Jones III Evan “Chip” Luther Jones III, 68, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD. Born August 30, 1954, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Evan Luther Jones, Jr. and Betty Irene (Wright) Jones. He graduated from Appalachian Bible College in 1996 with a Bachelors in Pastoral Ministries. Chip pastored several churches: Meadow Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Meadow Creek, WV, Windy Gap Independent Church in Aleppo, PA, Ozark Conservative Grace Brethren Church in Trout Lake Township, MI, for twelve years, and Findlay Grace Brethren Church in Findlay, OH. Chip loved to sing, and he played the banjo and guitar. He was also a ventriloquist. Chip is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Peggy Jones; siblings, Brenda (Thomas) Parker, Debbie Miller, Linda (Bill) Shank, Monty (Renee) Jones, Mary (Mike) Gamby; numerous nieces and nephews, and godchildren, Dannielle and Lionel Young and Andrew Nave. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Chester Jones.² He was born on August 30, 1954 at Hagerstown, Washington Co., Maryland.^1,2 He married Peggy Sue DeWeese, daughter of Jacob Andrew DeWeese Jr. and Henrietta Florence "Flo" Hylton, on December 28, 1974 at Bland Co., Virginia.¹ Evan Luther Jones III died on April 10, 2023 at Hagerstown, Washington Co., Maryland, at age 68.²
