Born July 8, 1992, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of Teal E. Beard of Greencastle and Michele L. Daugherty Hostetter of Chambersburg. Chanel was a member of King Street United Brethren Church of Chambersburg. She attended Greencastle-Antrim Elementary School in Greencastle. In addition to her parents, surviving are her maternal grandparents, Roy F. and Susan A. Daugherty of Chambersburg; paternal grandparents, Paul E. and Deborah B. Beard of Greencastle; stepmother; Kimberly A. Beard of Greencastle; step father, Trent L. Hostetter of Chambersburg; two stepsisters, Ashlyn M. Hostetter of Chambersburg and Brandy L. Beard of Greencastle; maternal step grandparents, Clair E. and M. Diane Hostetter of Waynesboro; paternal step grandparents , Donald L. and Peggy D. Bernhisel of Big Pool, Md; maternal great-grandmother Hazel I. Daugherty of Greencastle; paternal great-grandmother, Edna V. Beard of Waynesboro; great-grandmother Kathleen M. Hartman of Chambersburg; aunts and uncles. Burial will be Friday in Browns Mill Cemetery, Kauffman. on August 19, 1998.1
