Cattin, 27, Marion, died between midnight and 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 1981, in a one-car accident in Grant County. Born in Peru, she had lived in Marion since 1973. She was a nurse's aide at Marion General Hospital for eight years, and had attended Wright Beauty School in Kokomo. She was a member of Center Chapel Church. Surviving are her mother and stepfather, John and Caroline McManis, Marion; her father and stepmother, Richard and Ethel Cattin, Macy; Maternal grandparents, Otho and Blanch Webb, Port Richey, Fla; paternal grandparents, Floyd and Ethel Cattin, Peru; two brothers, Dennis and Glenn Cattin, both of Macy; a sister, Pamela Ackman, Rochester; three half brothers, John McManis, of Marion; and Johnny and Larry Cattin, both of Macy; a half sister, Gayle McMannis, Marion; four stepsisters, Connie Hunt of Jonesboro, Susie Shanbarger, Edith Smith and Debbie Lambert, all of Macy; and four stepbrothers, Lenni, Allen, Mike and Lloyd Lambert, II of Macy. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Huntington County.3 She was born on May 19, 1954 at Indiana.5 She died on November 28, 1981 at Grant Co., Indiana, at age 27.3,5

Josh Michael Akemon Jr. Josh Michael Akemon, “Junior,” 65, Lafayette, passed away at 5:18 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Franciscan Health, Lafayette East. Born April 26, 1955 in Hazard, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Josh and Elsie (Spurlock) Akemon. On January 15, 1983, in Peru, Indiana, he was married to Barbara A. (Caldwell) Ritchie, who survives. He was a 1974 graduate of North Miami High School, where he played football, and retired after twenty-five years from SIA in Lafayette. He played drums and guitar in several different bands and loved old cars, owning and restoring several over the years. He will be remembered as a hard working man who loved the Lord. Along with some friends, he helped build the Rochester Church of God and was a member of Faith Church, Lafayette. Survivors include his wife, Barbara A. Akemon, Lafayette; three children, Charles D. “Chuck” Ritchie, Florida; Dawn A. (C.J.) Barngrover; and Joshua M. (Bailey) Akemon, Lafayette; eight grandchildren, Haley Thomason, Georgia; Scarlett Ritchie, Florida; Faith, Nevaeh, and Avery Barngrover, Monticello; and Layton, Declan, and Brennan Akemon, Delphi; two sisters, Lois Jean (Harry) Moses, Ohio; and Shirley (William) Coahran, Macy; one brother, Bob Akemon, Peru; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Carolyn Williams. A public graveside service will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana.4 He was buried at Rochester I.O.O.F.
