     Shane Howard Vest Shane Howard Vest, 39, of Jumping Branch, passed away and went home to Heaven on Thursday, April 23, 2020. Born on December 13, 1980, he was the son of the late Samuel Poff Vest and Patricia Gail (Whitlock) Vest of White Oak, WV. Shane had an amazing soul and a huge heart. He was greatly loved by so many. Shane worked in the construction industry for most of his life and was well known for being a hard worker. Shane was a playful kid and carried those “good fun” antics into adulthood playing tricks on family and friends, especially the kids, throughout the years. We will dearly miss the son, brother, father and the man that meant so much to each one of us. Shane had assurance of his salvation and had been baptized last year. It brings comfort to know that he and his dad are having a glorious reunion. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel “Pops” Poff Vest, grandmothers, Mary “Grandbo” Gill and Elizabeth Rakes; grandfathers, Archie Allen and Ira Lee Whitlock; step grandfathers, Howard Gill and Raymond Rakes and a cousin, Eddie Crook. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Vest of White Oak, WV; his sister, Alice McClure (Sam) of Beckley, WV; his brother, Jody Vest (Kelli) of Shady Spring, WV; his son, Gavin Vest and his daughter, Ryleigh Vest; aunts, Rita Farley and Sharon Crook; uncles, Perky Whitlock, Larry Whitlock and Joey Rakes. He is also survived by his nieces, Kailey Vest, Korri McClure, Kate Reigel and Emerson Vest; nephew, Tyler Snyder, many cousins and a loving companion, Angela, “the kindest girl he had ever known”.² He was born on December 13, 1980 at West Virginia.² He died on April 23, 2020 at West Virginia at age 39.²

She was born April 19, 1928 in Lafferty, Ohio, daughter of the late William D. Jorden and Theresa I. Grassi Jorden. She worked as a Nurse's Aide for 28 years at Bell Nursing Home and was a member of the First Christian Church of Morristown. Nora was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and a friend to many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Poff; daughter-in-law, Eli Poff; and brother-in-law, John Manukin. She is survived by her son, Laird H. Poff, Lillington, North Carolina; sisters, Jane Manukin and Mary (Robert) Porter, all of Belmont, Ohio, and Diane (Buzz) Blizzard of Woodbridge, Virginia; granddaughter, Nicole M. Poff, of Miami, Florida; nephews, Billy Hamilton, John (Lynda) Frew, and Mike Blizzard; niece, Kimberly (Brian) Blizzad-Coyle; and Precious, her little poodle companion.⁴ She was born on November 19, 1928 at Lafferty, Belmont Co., Ohio.^5,6,3,4 As of February 8, 1951,her married name was Poff.² She married Billy Ray Poff, son of Henry Lewis Poff and Nora Ellen Carter, on February 8, 1951 at Belmont Co., Ohio.^1,2,4 Nora Marie Jorden died on July 1, 2012 at Wintersville, Jefferson Co., Ohio, at age 83.^5,6,4
