     Gary Thaddeus Ganek Gary T. Ganek, age 68, of Ingleside, Illinois died Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at his daughter’s home in Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Cremation rites have been accorded. Gary was born August 22, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Thaddeus “Ted” and Florence (Kallgren) Ganek. He attended Mundelein Schools, Mundelein, Illinois and graduated with the Class of 1963. Gary served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married Debra Jennings in 1982 in Lake Villa, Illinois. Debra died September 28, 2002. Gary worked as a carpenter for 20 years until his retirement. He loved spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, camping, carving decoys, telling stories and anything water-related. Most of all, Gary treasured spending time with his family and friends.Gary will be dearly missed by his daughter, Bridget (Eric) Dauphin of Mt. Carroll; two grandchildren, Lindsay and Lauren Dauphin; and one sister, Gail (Bruce) Prehm of Friendship, Wisconsin. He is preceded in death by his wife Debra; his parents Ted and Florence; a brother Gregg, and one sister, Ginger.² He was born on August 22, 1946 at Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois.² He married Debra Marie "Debbie" Jennings, daughter of Jackson Theodore "J.T." Born on January 2, 1932, at Matoaka, W. Va., she was the daughter of the late Ray and Jessie Sturgill Surface. Mrs. Jennings was a member of Cunard Baptist Church. She and her husband, Billy Ray, were married on June 23, 1951. She was a homemaker and enjoyed helping people. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Edward Surface and Rondie Surface; father and mother-in-law, Jack and Mary Jennings; brothers-in-law, J.T. and his wife, Freda Jennings, and Paul Jennings; sisters-in-law, Nancy and her husband Howard Ashcraft and Ellen and her husband George Rahall; brother-in-law, Paul Hoffman; and sister-in-law, Helen Surface. Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Billy Ray Jennings; son, Duane “Butch” Jennings, and daughter, Cynthia and her husband James Tackett; grandson, Billy and his wife Heather Tackett and their children, Tony and Destani; grandson, Chris and his wife Marlene Tackett and their son, James; brother, Lake Surface; brother-in-law, Ted and his wife Linda Jennings; sister-in-law, Polly Hoffman; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at Cunard Cemetery, Cunard, W.Va. on July 26, 2014.²
