Carr, all of Roanoke; five greatgrandchildren, Tyler, Mikaela and Hannah Krista, Nicole Hayes and Xavier Carr; sister, Gertrude Jennings of Fayetteville, W.Va; numerous nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law, V.T. Carr and wife, Ruth of Abingdon. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. on April 13, 2007.6

     Polly Jacqueline Jennings was buried at Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown, Salem Co., New Jersey.10,2 She Polly Jacqueline Hoffman (née Jennings) of Pennsville, New Jersey went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the age of 93. Polly passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Cunard, West Virginia and was the daughter of the late Jack and Mary Jennings. She is predeceased by her husband of forty four years, Cpl. Paul E. , and their first born daughter, as well as many of her brothers and sisters. Polly is survived by her youngest brother, Ted Jennings (Linda) of Virginia, her children Paul J, Jeff (Joyce), and Karen of New Jersey. She was a devoted Grandmal to eight grandchildren, a fun-loving GG to ten great-grandchildren and an adopted grandmother to countless others. Polly was a life-long member of Park Bible Baptist Church in Pennsville and dedicated her life to sharing the Gospel with the world. Family and friends meant everything to her and she was always willing to serve in anyway. She was a home for so many and her door was always open. Her legacy will always live on in the lives of those she’s graced. Polly will be deeply missed! Her family rejoices in the victory of Jesus, knowing that she’s finally Home. He was born on January 20, 1930, he was the son of the late Jack and Mary Jennings. Mr. Jennings was a member of Cunard Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Fayetteville High School was a retired shop chairman with General Motors in Cleveland, OH until he retired in 1982. He was a US Army Staff sergeant veteran during the Korean Conflict. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, J. T. and his wife, Freda Jennings and Paul Jennings, Joe Alvin and Lawrence Jennings; sisters, Nancy and her husband Howard Ashcraft and Ellen and her husband George Rahall; brothers-in-law, Paul Hoffman, Edward and Rondie Surface; sister-in-law, Helen Surface; father and mother-in-law, Ray and Jessie Surface. Left to cherish his memory include son: Duane “Butch” Jennings; and daughter, Cynthia and her husband James Tackett; grandson: Billy and his wife Heather Tackett and their children, Tony and Destani; grandson: Chris and his wife Marlene Tackett and their son, James; brother, Ted and his wife Linda Jennings; sister, Polly Hoffman; brother-in-law, Lake Surface and many nieces and nephews. Jennings; her children, Melissa Workman and husband Frank, Tammy Wright and husband Dean, Vannette Gilbert and her husband, Mike; two stepdaughters, Diane Neubauer and her husband, Cliff and Darlene Monde and her husband, John; a sister, Polly Hoffman; three brothers, J.T. Jennings, Bill Jennings and Ted Jennings; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville. on November 16, 2003.7

He was born July 28, 1915, in Welch, W.Va., a son of the late Michael and Malakeh Bassett Rahall. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Jennings Rahall; his beloved stepmother, Edna Rahall, who reared him from an early age; his sister, Nahey Rahall Bassett; and his brother, Philip Rahall. He is survived by his sisters, Sally Rahall Tweel of Huntington; and Lorene Rahall David of Omaha, Neb; his brother, Naseeb Rahall of Charleston, W.Va; his mother-in-law, Mary Jennings of Cunard, W.Va; many nieces and nephews; and numerous other family members and friends, especially Fred and Elizabeth Kyle of Huntington, W.Va. George graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley, W.Va., and attended Roanoke Business College. He volunteered in 1940 to serve in the United States Air Force and served for three years in the Pacific Arena during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Beckley, where he went into business for himself. He married Ellen Jennings on October 8, 1950. He and Ellen moved to Huntington in the 1960's, where he once again operated his own business. Thereafter, he was employed at Nick's News and finally retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways. George was a committed Christian who attended Highlawn Baptist Church, where he was an active member and deacon. Later he became a faithful member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church until his death. George was known for his happy disposition and daily Bible reading. George was active in Democratic politics, being a strong supporter of his relative, U.S. Rep. Nick Joe Rahall (D-WV). George will be interred at Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, following the service. George's family extends their sincere appreciation and thanks to hospitalists Drs. Gilkerson and Duncan, for their kind, compassionate care of George during his last hospital stay. on October 17, 2007.1
