There are several other special family members and friends who will cherish her memory. A period of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, in the funeral home's chapel. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at the Southwest Virginia Veteran's Cemetery in Dublin. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to the New Grace Baptist Church Mission Fund at 1527 Gilford Ave, NW in Roanoke, Va. 24017. on October 3, 2017.2
