I Adam Furrow of the county of Floyd and the state of Virginia being of sound mind do make this my last will and testament that is to say. I desire in the first place that all my just debts is to be paid as soon after my decease as may be --- out of my estate. In the second place I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth Furrow all my real and personal estate of which she is to have and to make use of so long as she remains my widow, but if she marries , she is only to receive one third of said estate and after her death it is my will that my daughter Mary A Conner wife of Andrew I Conner have the following property which she has already received from me to wit. One cow, one heifer, two sheep, one bed and stead, one side saddle, one chest, one table, one large and small pot, one oven, one skillet, one set of plates, one set of knives & forks, one dish, one set cups and saucers and one flax wheel. It is my will that my said daughter Mary A Conner have these articles for the personal benefit of her and her children. In case she should become needy I desire that my friend William Conner shall let her have such things that she may need, and that he keep a -- record of the same to be deducted out of her part of my estate at her mothers death. It is also my will that my other daughter to wit. Eleanore I Conner wife of William P Conner, Amanda P Furrow and Sarah B Furrow have equal with my said daughter Mary A Conner which they have received with the exception of Amanda who has not received her cow and heifer, neither her pots, plates, knives and forks nor sheep. W., Roanoke, Virginia.4 She was born on August 13, 1924 at Roanoke, Virginia.5 As of February 15, 1942,her married name was Martin.3 She married Mearis Massie "Mac" Martin on February 15, 1942 at Hollins, Roanoke Co., Virginia.1,3,4 Helen Christine Wickham died on December 16, 2016 at Virginia at age 92.4 She Helen Christine Wickham Martin, 92, of Roanoke, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 16, 2016. She was a life-long member of Hollins Road Church of the Brethren and was also a life deacon. Christine was predeceased by the love of her life, M. Massie Martin. She was the daughter of the late Christian and Louise Wickham. In addition, she was also predeceased by her sisters, Marie and Betty; and her brothers, Chris and James. Christine held various jobs during her lifetime including the Viscose plant during World War II and at various sewing factories. She was an excellent seamstress and a wonderful homemaker. She opened her heart and home to many children over the years and some adults as well. Christine is survived by her children, Mearis (Kay) Martin, Mary "Linda" (Robert) Brown and Amy (Emmett) Marsico. She is also survived by five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Alice Smith, Nellie Mullins and Anne Clark; and a great number of nieces, nephews and in-laws. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at Oakey's North Chapel with Pastor Horace Light officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 19, 2016, at the funeral home. on December 18, 2016.4

She was born April 13, 1931, in Roanoke, Va. to the late Rev. Christian and Louise Wickham. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Marie Martin and brothers, J. W. Wickham and Christian Wickham Jr. She will be remembered for her never ending love of family. "Granny", as she was known by her grandchildren, was gifted in many areas of her life. Among her many talents, she had a love for bridge, piano, sewing, fishing, ceramics and baking. Everything she did, she shared with her family, friends and church community. Her kind generosity made a lasting impact on all who knew her. She is survived by her husband and best friend, Coy Stanley; companion, Fifi; two daughters, Renee Pratt Garman and Dianne Pratt Thornton and husband, Mark. Mrs. Stanley is also survived by four grandchildren, Jennifer Teachey, Todd Crosswhite and wife, Christie, Kristie Sturgill, Brian Crosswhite and wife, Shannan; ten great-grandchildren, Jordan Teachey, Michael Sturgill, Megan Sturgill, Cody Childress, Kacie Crosswhite, Tiffany Crosswhite, Emily Crosswhite, Jesse Crosswhite, Olivia Crosswhite and Kaylee Crosswhite; one great-great granddaughter, Ava Madison Sturgill. Her surviving sisters are Anne Clark and husband, Carlton, Nellie Mullins and husband, Eddie, Christine Martin and Mary Alice Smith; numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel on Brambleton Ave. at noon Monday, March 10, 2014. The Rev. Jo Ellen Heatherington will officiate. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014. on March 8, 2014.4

Stanley, 84, of Roanoke, died Wednesday morning, February 18, 2015. Coy served in the United States Air Force for four years, with the Military Air Police, and retired as a Sergeant with the Roanoke City Police Dept. with 30 years’ service (12 years in the Homicide Division). He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Surviving are his daughters, Vickie Stanley Hopkins and husband, Eddie of Boones Mill, Sheril Stanley Whiteside of Roanoke, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 3, 2381 Roanoke Blvd., Salem, VA 24153 in Coy’s memory. A funeral service will be held at Oakey’s Roanoke Chapel, Monday, February 23, 2015 at 12 noon. Interment in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with police honors. Conner, 73, of Glenwood, died peacefully Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at Princeton Community Hospital. Born April 26, 1934, at McComas, he was the son of the late Gracie Ann Austin Conner and Doc Huff Conner. Mr. Conner served his country for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and survived the Tet Offensive while stationed at Da Navy Air Base. He retired as TSGT and had received several decorations, medals and honors during his career. Following the service, he worked for 13 1/2 years for Overnite Transfer Company in Green Valley, retiring in 1989. He loved the Atlanta Braves even when they let him down. He attended the Fairview Community Church when his health permitted. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John Cerbert Conner, Jackie Lee Conner, Garwood Conner and Roy Conner, along with sisters, Ocie Ann Conner, Hazel Davis and Mayda Williams. Left to cherish is memory, his devoted and loving wife of 54 years, Mildred King Conner. He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Donna and husband Galen Morris of Roanoke, Va., Deborah Hubbard Hood of Princeton, and Diana and husband Courtney Fiery of Bluefield, Va. His legacy includes three grandsons, three granddaughters, one great-grandson, and four great-granddaughters. He is also survived by his sister, Jean Belcher and husband Calvin of Garwood; brother, Randolph Conner and wife Faye of Bainbridge, Ohio; and sister-in-law, Maxine Conner of Lashmeet, and many nephews and nieces. His extended family, Dr. Chambers, Dr. Gabe, Dr. Patel and the many nurses and staff of Princeton Community Hospital, and Jason Rose, Michael King and James Wells. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2008, from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Larry Dyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Courthouse Road in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family today (Thursday) from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
