     Herman Douglas "Doug" Ragland Jr. H. Douglas Ragland, Jr., 82, of Lynchburg passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Barbara Taylor Ragland. Born in Lynchburg, March 26, 1934, he was the son of the late Herman Douglas Ragland and Neva Meredith Ragland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janie R. Young and one grandson, Shane Ragland. Doug was retired from Bell Atlantic Telephone Co. He was also a local business owner having been a partner in the Night Gallery/Gatsbys and former owner of Heavenly Ham for 19 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Garry D. Ragland and his wife Libby of Goode, Dean H Ragland of Forest, Dana Jo Campbell and her husband Gary of Lynchburg, Kelly R. Milstead of Wakefield, RI and Kerry W. “Bubba” Ragland and his wife Tonilyn of Myrtle Beach, SC; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.4 He was born on March 26, 1934 at Lynchburg, Virginia.2,3 He married Barbara Elizabeth Taylor, daughter of William Berkley "Shine" Taylor Jr. and Elizabeth Frances Coleman, on November 19, 1983 at Lynchburg, Virginia.1,2,4 Herman Douglas "Doug" Ragland Jr. died on December 13, 2016 at Lynchburg, Virginia, at age 82.4

He was a true New Orleanian, enjoying the lifestyle and living life to the fullest. For many years, he owned and operated Warehouse District Pizza and could always be counted on to bring the food to any gathering. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Mark was his own person who could always be counted on to share his goodness and personality with those he came in contact with. He will be sadly missed by all, but especially by his mother and his friend, Lisa Mondello. Interment will be private in Garden of Memories Cemetery. God bless his life and his soul. on November 2, 2016.1
