She is survived by a daughter, Susan Russell and her husband, Barry of Candler, NC and sister, Rachel Wiley of Greensboro, NC. Services will be held at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, January 24th at Laurel Oak Christian Church in High Point, NC with the Rev. Allen Brown officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Tuesday, January 23rd at Davis Funerals and Cremations in High Point. Burial will be in Floral Gardens Memorial Park in High Point, NC. Rachel Annie Elmore STOKESDALE - Rachel Wiley, 91, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home in Stokesdale, NC. She had been in declining health for several years. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point, NC with Pastor Ray Luther officiating. Rachel was born June 30, 1919 in Craig County, Virginia to the late Marshall Elmore and Emma Via Elmore. She lived in the High Point area for over 70 years where she worked for Silver Knit Hosiery and Influential Hosiery. She was a resident of Wesleyan Homes for twenty two years and attended church services there. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles P. Wiley, who died in 1978; two brothers, Claude and Walter Elmore; and five sisters, Georgie Ransom, Viola Willis, Edith Bailey, Elsie Fisher and Mildred Ware. Surviving are two daughters, Reta Hayworth and husband Myron Hayworth, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC; and Elaine Campbell and husband Bill Campbell of Summerfield, NC; two grandchildren, Lisa Rees and husband Steve Rees of Rowlett, TX, and Myron Hayworth, III and wife Lisa Hayworth of Mount Pleasant, SC; and three great grandchildren Jessica Rees, Breanna Hayworth and Claire Hayworth. The family extends a special thanks to Countryside Manor Nursing Home for the care and devotion given to Rachel for the past two years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
