Mabel Louise Roope Louise Quesenberry, May 2, 1926 - May 28, 2024. Louise “Auntie” Roope Quesenberry, 98, of Christiansburg, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Spring Oak Senior Living in Christiansburg. Auntie was the daughter of the late Harry and Emily Roope of Christiansburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph N. Quesenberry, of 50 years; brothers James W. Roope, H.L. Roope, Glennard Roope; sisters Edna R. Case and Marie R. Moran; nephew John Roope; nieces Cynthia and Sharon Roope. Auntie is survived by nephew Jay Moran (Kelly); nieces Jamie Bond (Wendell), Kim Brumfield (Steve), and Jennie Stewart. Along with many great-nieces and great-nephews, she loved dearly. Auntie was a long-term member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and loved being with people. She especially enjoyed time with her family and watching baseball. She was preceded in death by her husband, William David Quesenberry and by a son, Michael Quesenberry. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Mark Falls of Buchanan; brother, Willie Gardner of Roanoke; two sisters, Faye Mitchell and Addie Mae Turman, both of Christiansburg; two grandsons, David Falls and Brian Falls; and four greatgrandchildren, Jessamyn, Ariana, Hannah and Aydain Falls. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 28, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with the Rev. Darlene Marshall and the Rev. Mike Vest officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family requests that contributions be made to either the Rockford United Methodist Church, 6790 Hickman Cemetery Road, Radford, Virginia 24141 or to Carilion Hospice, 700 Randolph St., Radford, Va., 24141. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. on July 27, 2008.1

Born October 22, 1941 in Odenton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Russell Lee, Sr. and Virginia Mae Knight Taylor. She grew up in Anne Arundel County and in 1959 graduated from Glen Burnie High School. On July 26, 1970 she married Raymond B. Carr. They lived in Virginia for five years, where in 1975 she graduated from the Roanoke Memorial Hospital Practical Nursing Program. Shortly thereafter, they moved back to Glen Burnie, MD where she worked as an LPN at Deaton Medical Center and North Arundel Hospital. In 1982 she received her AA degree in Nursing from Anne Arundel Community College. She worked as an RN for the next fourteen years at North Arundel Hospital, Anne Arundel Medical Center, University of MD and Kent General Hospital in Dover, DE, retiring in 1994 due to illness. She was a member of the Retirement Club Local 540, Baltimore, MD. She loved nursing, spending time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, sewing, crocheting, gardening and playing the slots. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Carr is survived by two daughters, Spring Davidson and her husband Jeff Millford, and April Shamblin and her husband Josh; a brother, Russell L. Taylor, Jr. and his wife Joan; six grandchildren; her step-mother, Frances Taylor; half-sister, Christina Spalding; and many other friends and relatives.
