Samuel Olin Williams Samuel Olin Williams, 75 years of age transitioned from this lifetime to his eternal rest with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven on Friday August 30, 2024. He was born on January 31,1949, the beloved Son of Cordelia Dyke Williams and Daniel Green Lowman Sr. Olin carried the Lord in his heart his entire life and was a faithful servant unto the Lord in many churches including his beloved Valley Word Ministries. Olin was a part of the last generation to call Old Northeast Roanoke home always speaking joyfully of his years growing up there. His dedication to and love of children showed in the work that he did. For many many years Olin was a school bus driver for the Roanoke City Public School system affectionately referring to his bus riders as his "bus babies". Olin also donated his time providing driving services at the Gainsboro YMCA and participated in as many activities there as possible adding happiness to the lives of so many people. Olin was the kind of person that never met a stranger. He loved the Lord with all his heart and wasn't ashamed to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with anyone with an open ear. He is preceded in death by his mother Cordelia Dyke Williams, father Daniel Green Lowman Sr., it would be remiss not to mention Gordon Williams Sr. Also, his sons Colin Chappell and Enoch Williams and grandson Isaac Chappell and the myriads of Kings and Queens that were his brothers and sisters. Olin is survived by his wife Stacey Tate Williams, his children Valencia Chappell Smith (Luke), Darrell Jennings (Melissa), Angelo Day (Val), Corey Williams, Eric Day, Antonio Chappell, Maria Williams, Dominique Williams, Samira Williams Paez (Ricardo) and Samara Williams. In addition, literally legions of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including his former wife and friend for life Jacqueline Crews Williams and lifelong friend Cecil Duke Brown. And the multitude of family names that make up the family tree that Olin was a part of including the Williams, Lowman, Tate, Dyke, Paez, Flint, Watson, McCrae, Wilson, and Jordan families as well as the Crews Nash and Law families. Olin was also very fond of the Brown family and the Church of the Brethren who orchestrated the construction of he and his wife's home. Know that each and every one of you were deeply loved by Olin. May God bless you and keep you in All ways, always. All Is Well.4 He was born on January 31, 1949 at Roanoke, Virginia.3,4 He married Stacey Leigh Tate, daughter of Wyatt Edward Tate and Frances Elizabeth Burnette, on September 17, 1995 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,2,4 Samuel Olin Williams died on August 30, 2024 at Virginia at age 75.4
