A month ago she was taken to the St. Charles Hospital for an operation with the hope of saving her life. For a while she seemed to improve, but later complications get in which finally caused her death. She was born in Floyd county, but had resided in Roanoke for about twenty years. Beside her husband she is survived by one daughter, Miss Annabel Lemon; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Conner, of this city; and four sisters, Mrs. Chas. A. Smith, of Floyd county, whose husband was formerly connected with the Roanoke police department; Mrs. George S. Jack, of Roanoke; Mrs. Andrew A. Carper, of North Wilkesboro, N. C; and Mrs. Berta Conner, of Roanoke. Mr. Lemon is connected with the collection department of the Roanoke Railway & Electric Company. Mrs. Lemon was a consistent Christian, having been a member of the Methodist church since her early girlhood, and up until a few months ago was a teacher in the Grace Methodist Sunday School. on April 26, 1913.7
