Snider, 67 year old Woodward resident, died Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Grace Living Center in Woodward surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Becky Pierson officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home. Shirley Jean Snider was born on December 28, 1946 in Borger, Texas to Robert William Gribble and Viola Mae (Fowler) Gribble. Shirley’s family lived for awhile in Borger before moving to Ashland and Coldwater, Kansas. The family moved to Woodward in 1956 and Shirley attended the Woodward schools. She graduated from Woodward High School in 1964. Shirley was united in marriage to Charles Vernon Snider on March 23, 1965 in Clayton, New Mexico. They made their home in Buffalo before moving to Woodward. She worked for the Fruit of the Loom Underwear Factory, the Sands Motel cleaning rooms. Shirley worked at Maries Villa as a Waitress for 20 years and Walmart for 13 years. Shirley loved spending time with her family, especially watching her children and grandchildren rodeoing and playing sports. She was a member of the New Horizon United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the VFW and the Moose Lodge. She is survived by two sons, Chuck Snider Jr. and wife Deborah of Oklahoma City; Bart Snider and wife Kimberlee of Woodward; five brothers, Tom Gribble and wife Norma of Lindsey, Jim Gribble and wife Margene of Woodward, Link Gribble, Larry Gribble and wife Tutor of Woodward, Bill Gribble of San Diego, California; eight grandchildren Cullen Snider and wife Candace, Tori Snider, Jesika Snider, Jakob Snider, Laney Jo Snider, Colt Snider, Denton Mars, and Rowdy Mars; two great-grandchildren, Tatum Snider, Bradin Snider; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles Snider, and her parents, Bob and Viola Gribble. on July 2, 2014.1

DeLois Smith died on March 17, 2016 at Hutchinson, Reno Co., Kansas, at age 88.2 She DeLois Snider, 88, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She and her husband, Chet, owned and operated the Sands Motel in Ulysses, KS. She also worked at Oklahoma State Bank in Buffalo, OK and was Vice President at Grant County State Bank in Ulysses, Kansas. DeLois was born on February 8, 1928, in Fillmore, OK, the daughter of Mack and Gladys (Johnson) Smith. She was baptized in the First Baptist Church in Fillmore, OK. She married Tommy Joe McEachern, who was killed in Okinawa in 1945. She then married Leslie Peery until his passing. She later married Chet Snider on June 26, 1964, in Oklahoma City, OK. He died on October 29, 2007. She was a member of NABW (National Association of Bank Women). She also belonged to Family Motorhome Association and the Foretravel Motor Club. She and husband, Chet, wintered in Arizona, Nevada, and California. She is survived by: five children, Kendall Joe McEachern and wife, Catheryn, of McPherson, KS, Charles Leslie Peery of Raymore, MO, Kathy Reese and husband, Nelson, of Mooreland, OK, Connie Mead and husband, Wayne, of Woodward, OK, Sheryl Woods and husband, B.G., of Gage, OK; a daughter-in-law, Elaine McEachern of Buffalo, OK; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, & nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Mack Smith and Gladys Smith Wert; husbands, Tommy Joe McEachern, Leslie Peery, and Chet Snider; son, Tommy Mack McEachern; granddaughter, Denise Elaine McEachern; grandson, Joey Dean McEachern; step-daughter, Cindy DeVon; brothers, JT Smith and Bobby Smith; sisters, Oleta Lindsey, Chestina Callen, and Mildred Sam. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Pastor Rich Duerksen officiating. Burial will follow at the McPherson Cemetery. on March 19, 2016.2
