Morlan, a World War II veteran, moved to Florida after living and owning a paint store in Northern Indiana and Michigan. He started his own real estate development company after he moved to Bonita Springs, Fla. Shriners Hospitals for Children can provide this expert pediatric specialty care to children," Vice-Chairman of Cincinnati's hospital's board of governors and Zorah Shriners member Jerry Hardisty said. "Hubert's legacy will live on and help thousands of children each year." Shriners Hospitals for Children is an international health care system of 22 hospitals dedicated to providing pediatric specialty care, innovative research and outstanding teaching programs. Children up to age 18 with orthopaedic conditions, burns of all degrees, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate are eligible for care and receive all services at no charge -- regardless of financial need. The Shriners Hospital in Cincinnati is a regional referral facility providing acute and rehabilitative care for pediatric burns of any size. on May 10, 2009.10

     Wayne Morlan Wayne Morlan, 89, of Brazil passed away after a brief illness at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care, April 3, 2020. He was born January 25, 1931 in Carbon, Indiana, the son of Elza Morlan and Mae Poff Morlan. He graduated from Van Buren High School, Class of 1950. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1950 and served until 1954. While in the Navy, he worked at the Thule Air Base in Greenland then finished his service in French Morocco, North Africa. Upon returning to the United States he began his employment with IBM, Greencastle, Indiana in 1954. He had a 33-year career with IBM, retiring in 1987. On July 17, 1955, Wayne married the love of his life, Nancy Loy Morlan, who survives. He built their first home and pursued his love of gardening. Together they had two daughters Melanie Morlan Huber (husband Matthew), Brazil and Melinda Morlan Miller (husband Frederick), La Jolla, CA both who survive. Wayne and Nancy would have been married 65 years in July 2020. Upon retiring from IBM, Wayne continued to be an avid fisherman, golfer, and gardener. He loved baking to the delight of his children and grandchildren and kept them supplied with breads, cinnamon rolls, and homemade pizzas. Wayne completed the coursework at Golf Works and repaired as well as made custom golf clubs for many golfers in the Brazil area. He was a member of the 11:30 golf group at the Forest Park Golf Course in Brazil. The highlight of his golfing career was a Hole-In-One on Hole # 11 at the Forest Park Golf Course on August 4, 2014. He would often tell his children and grandchildren stories about how much fun he had growing up in Carbon, Indiana. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Hubert Morlan (wife Alene) and James Morlan (wife Elizabeth), a great-nephew Colton Jones, beloved mother-in-law Lucille Loy, and beloved sister-in-law Maryjane Loy Gottsche. Wayne is survived by his wife; two daughters; five grandchildren John Philip Huber, Brazil, Phillip Wayne Miller (wife Kimberle Shen), California, Janelle Renee Huber (husband Robert Frasier), North Dakota, William Morlan Miller (wife Ellese), California, Caroline Claire Miller, California; two great-grandsons, Thomas Frederick Miller and Robert Lincoln Miller, California; beloved sister-in-law Susan Loy Kellum, Brazil; beloved brother-in-law David Gottsche, Brazil; nieces Julie Gottsche, Indianapolis, Emily Gottsche-Holston (husband Josh), Florida, Amy Gottsche (David Shelton), Florida, Andrea Jones (husband Jason), Brazil, Amanda Hulse (husband Ryan), Carmel, Robin Reckerd (husband Daniel), Plainfield. Cremation was chosen, with private family graveside services at a later date.2 He was buried at Clearview Cemetery, Brazil, Clay Co., Indiana.5 He was born on January 25, 1931 at Carbon, Clay Co., Indiana.1,2 He married Nancy Jean Loy on July 17, 1955 at Indiana.1,2 Wayne Morlan died on April 3, 2020 at Terre Haute, Vigo Co., Indiana, at age 89.2

Rev. Kenneth Mullins of the Baptist church and Rev. Henry Humphrey of the Assembly of God church will officiate. Burial will be at the Pleasant Valley cemetery under the direction of Temple Mortary. Snider had been in ill health for a number of years and only last week returned from the Veterans hospital at Sulphur. He was born in Crawford County, Kansas, in 1896, and came to Harper county shortly after World War I ended. In 1920 he married Marian Painter. The veteran leaves his wife and mother, Mrs. M. R. Snider of Buffalo and nine children. The two oldest boys are now in the army, Pfc. Kenneth is somewhere in India and Pvt. William Q. is stationed at Camp Robinson, Ark. The other children are Mrs. Loretta Ogan, Velma, Chester, Sybil, Charles, Donald and Carolyn. In addition, a brother, J. L. Snider, and three sisters survive, Mrs. Elza Buss and Mrs. Richard Buss of Buffalo and Mrs. Mattie Barnes of Coal Run, Ohio. on March 22, 1945.6
