Mrs. Handshew was a retired employee of the former Carlisle Shoe Co. She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God, Carlisle, and its adult Sunday school class. Surviving are a son, Arthur E. Ayers of Mira Loma, Calif; one grandchild; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle. Burial will be in LeTort Cemetery, Middlesex Township. on May 18, 1999.⁴

Burial will follow at East Cemetery in Sigourney. Visitation will be held Wednesday (today) from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church with the family present. A memorial fund has been established. Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney is in charge of the arrangements. on June 23, 2005.¹
