Carol was employed with the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy from 1978 and stayed with the Academy and later the Department of Public Safety until she retired in 2001. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Roger Litton; her daughter, Shari (Mike) Wootton of Woodstock, GA; her son, Michael (Kathe) Litton of Columbia; four sisters, Karen (Ernie) Sanders, Barbara (Allen) Yessman, Sandra Barnhill and Linda (Rick) Browning; five grandchildren, Kris, Jenica, Nikki, Katie and Ashley Wootton and several nieces and nephews. Carol accepted Christ as her Savior early in life and was an active member of the Friendship Adult Sunday School Class at Riverland Hills Baptist Church. on September 27, 2006.1

He was born on July 25, 1940, in Rainelle, to the late Ernest Sr., and Kathlyn Vance Sanders. Ernie was a U.S. Army veteran having served from 1958 to 1961 as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. He worked at H&R Block for 23 years before opening his own tax business with his wife called Val-U-Tax Service. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle whenever he got the chance. He was a resident of Tyler Mountain for 50 years, where he was a staple in the community. Everyone who knew him knew him as a man who was fair with everyone. He was greatly loved by his family and friends and will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Karen Sanders; son, Mark Sanders; sisters, Linda Sanders, Peggy Viers; and niece Shelly McIntire. He is survived by his son, Jeff Sanders of Charleston; grandson Dakota Sanders of South Charleston; granddaughter, Autumn Bice of Dunbar; great grandsons, Julian and Riley Bice of Dunbar; sisters, Mary Entsminger of White Sulphur Springs, Beverly Payne of Rainelle; nieces, Donetta Viers of Rainelle, Sandy McIntire Peters (Robert) of White Sulphur Springs; and nephew, Michael McIntire (Alicia) of Lewisburg. She was very instrumental in helping design and the placement of the Vietnam Memorial at Herbert Hoover High School for the four classmates who died in Vietnam. Sandy always had a love for animals. She helped people one by one and now she has entered into her Haven of Rest. She is preceded in death by her first husband James Ronald "Barney" Barnhill; mother Lorraine Alice Sanders Gillispie; father Orville Glenn Sanders and sister Evelyn Carol Sanders Litton. Sandy is survived by her husband John H. Wilson; three sisters Karen Yvonne Sanders Sanders, Barbara Joyce Sanders Yessman and Linda Sue Sanders Browning and a host of nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife of 62-years Leota May (Sayre) Saunders; sister, Lois Vaughan of Richmond, VA, and several nieces and nephews. A procession will leave the funeral home for Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville, where military honors will be provided by the Jackson County veteran's organizations, and Masonic graveside rites will be provided by Cottageville Lodge #54, AF & AM. on December 26, 2008.2

Survivors include three daughters, Crystal Reynolds of Charleston, Angel Loftis of Parkersburg and Holly Sanders of Clendenin; three sisters, Phyllis Spencer of Newton, NC, Margie Dellinger of Edinburg, VA and Marcella Drennen of Glenville; two brothers, Denver Paul Sanders of New Carrollton, MD and Sonny Sanders of Walton; a faithful friend, Rodney Haynes of Clendenin; three grandchildren. Burial will be in the Looney Cemetery, Walton.2 He married Drema K. Rucker.1 Ronald G.
