He was devoted to his family, enjoyed being with them and always stayed in touch with them. He was Baptist and lived in Arizona since 1939. Survivors include a sister, Zylpha Ames of Buckeye, a niece and six nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean. on June 19, 2003.⁴
