She was a member of the Ladies Aid and helped with many church functions as her health would permit. Lois was past State Commander of the Women’s Auxillary Disabled American Veterans Association, and was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. Survivors include a sister, Janet Zutaut of Crab Orchard; two sons, James Crook and his wife and special caregiver, Essie, of Hartman Lane, and John Crook and wife, Linda, of Limestone, Tenn; three grandsons: Edward C. Crook of Shady Spring, J.W. Crook of Telford, Tenn., and Shawn Crook of Telford; several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Nancy Ealey. Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2010, at Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel, 125 Idletime Dr., Greeneville, with the Pastor Martha Beamer officiating. Burial will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens, Greeneville, Tenn. Pallbearers will be Jackie ’Buddy’ Wilson, Jon Crook, Shawn Crook, Bobby Zutaut, Allen Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be nurses and staff of Laughlin Health Care and Johnson City Medical Center Hospice and the members of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, Greeneville. Born July 21, 1923, at Jumping Branch, he was a son of Elmer C. Crook of Jumping Branch and the late Alma Bragg Crook. He was employed for 12 years as a stock room manager of the Beckley G. C. Murphy Co. and later worked for the Wayne County Board of education as principal of Camp Creek School near Huntington. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 18 of Beckley and the Church of the Brethren at Crab Orchard. He is survived by his wife Lois Farley Crook, two sons, James Edward and John Norman, both at home; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Wiley, Beaver and two brothers, Phillip and Miles Stanley Crook, both of Jumping Branch. The body will be taken from the Ronald Meadows Funeral Home in Hinton to the church one hour before the services. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Saturday. on May 21, 1971.2

Ernest Wilton Conner and Addnia Jane "Addie" Foley, on December 24, 1965 at Los Angeles Co., California.2,3 Helen Georgina James died on February 10, 2009 at Phoenix, Maricopa Co., Arizona, at age 88.4,3 She Conner, Helen G. - Helen was born in MacDonald, Manitoba, Canada on November 6, 1920. After graduating grade 12 in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, Helen went on to study at McKellar General Hospital were she earned her nursing degree and became an RN. Helen spent the last part of WWII as a Lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps. In 1951, Helen came to the United States and found work in Texas and California as an RN. She made her way to Phoenix in 1953 and made it her home. Helen became a U.S. citizen in February of 1959. She enjoyed many years as a member of the Daughters of the Nile. Helen retired from nursing in December of 1987. Along with her husband, Dr. S.K. Conner, Helen enjoyed many driving adventures to Alaska, Canada and across the United States. On February 10, 2009, Helen at long last reunited with her sisters, Ruth, Eunice and Connie, whom she missed dearly. Also welcoming Helen home are her parents, Everett and Charlotte, and four brothers, Harry, Wilfred, Leonard and Ray. Helen is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 44 years, Dr. S. Kent Conner, of Phoenix, AZ to whom she was married on December 24, 1964. She is also survived by her son, W. Kent (Jennifer) Conner, of Phoenix, AZ; stepson Devin (Gail) Randolph, of Rio Rico, AZ; niece Elaine (William & Kellie) Rice of Nashville, TN; one niece and 7 nephews in Canada; grandchildren- Abe, William, and Randy Randolph; great-grandchildren - Chace, Caden, and Carl Randolph. The family of Helen Conner gratefully thanks Hospice of the Valley Organization, Magda's Family Care House, for the outstanding and loving care provided to Helen throughout this time. Helen will be placed at final rest at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery. on February 14, 2009.3
