McCutcheon, 35, a chemical company employee. He died at 7 a.m., in a local hospital and his body was removed to the Bartlett mortuary. State police placed a murder charge against his wife, Mrs. Mabel McCutcheon, 34. She had been released from the county jail Thursday afternoon under a $2,500 bond on a malicious wounding charge but surrendered herself at the prosecuting attorney's office Friday morning following her husband's death. It was understood that a new bond would be set by Intermediate Judge Jackson Savage. State troopers quoted Mrs. McCutcheon as saying that she shot at her husband several times when she found him in a room of their home with another woman. Troopers said that she then attacked the woman with her fists and that the woman ran from the home. State police, it was understood, are searching for the woman to be held as a material witness. Surviving Mr. McCutcheon besides the widow are three children, Jewell Marie, Hazel and Jimmy McCutcheon; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. F. McCutcheon; four sisters, Mrs. L. C. Salmons, Mrs. L. B.
