She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Bobby Joe Herring. They were married January 21, 1967. She is also survived by her mother of Salem, VA. A graduate of Andrew Lewis High School in Salem, VA, she attended Roanoke College. Prior to her marriage, she was the secretary to the president of WDBJ Television in Roanoke, VA. Upon her marriage to Bobby, she moved to Winston-Salem and later joined him in his business, Herring Decorating, Inc.. She participated in the business affairs and later became an officer and interior designer with the firm. She was the owner of Herlee, Inc., a sister company to Herring Decorating, Inc. She was a woman's minority owner of the company which did roofing and insulation in several states. She was a member of First Christian Church. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 5, at Forsyth Memorial Park with Dr. Michael Simpson and Dr. Jerry Whitt officiating.
