He was retired from Burlington Industries with over forty-five years of service. Born and raised in the Alum Ridge area of Floyd County, Va. he served in the United States Army during World War II in New Guiana, the Philippines, and Guadalcanal. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, serving many years as chaplain for Radford's Post 776. He married his wife of seventy years, Lucille Roop Graham, in 1948 and purchased their life-long home in Radford. He loved fishing, gardening, playing Santa Claus, building log bird houses, and making "peach tree baskets". After retirement, using trees he had cut and handcrafted, he built his own log cabin. He served many years as a deacon for the Seventh Day Adventist Church. In addition to his wife, Lucille, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Milton and Lois Graham; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Peter Hart of Frostburg, MD; step-son Larry Dickens and friend, Donna of Pulaski; grandsons, Gavin Hart and Rickey Dickens; and his granddaughter, Kelsey Hart. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peyton and Maggie Graham and nine siblings: sisters Mary Switzer, Iva Hodges, Mae Conner, Edith McBride, Vera Eaves, Atha Smith, Evangeline Wickline, Lakie Williams, and brother, Hanson Graham. She enjoyed traveling, especially winter trips to Florida, hosting church socials at their mountain cabin, making quilts, cooking, growing flowers and preparing for her favorite holiday, Christmas. Survivors include her sons, Larry Dickens (Donna) and Milton Graham (Lois); daughter, Tammy Hart (Peter); along with several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and Eric, a special neighbor and friend to Lucille and Harding. Williams, age 69, passed away Thursday in a Salem hospital. He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and was formerly from Floyd Co. He is survived by his wife, Lakie Graham Williams, Roanoke; son and daughter-in-law, Richard Williams, III and Andrea Williams, Fredericksburg, Va; daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Ron Shelton, Pottstown, Pa; two grandsons, Michael and Matthew Shelton, Pottstown, Pa; five brothers, Deward Williams, Ray Williams, Ross Williams, Don Williams, all of Floyd; Al Williams, Roanoke; three sisters, Margie Wood, Floyd; Verla Gorenflo, Marion, Ohio; Loleta Lawrence, Olney, Md. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd, with the Rev. Robert Chapman officiating with interment in Topeco Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd. The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cave Spring Rescue Squad. on July 26, 1991.¹

     ElFreeda McNeil was buried at Sunset Cemetery, North Franklin Street, Christiansburg, Montgomery Co., Virginia.¹ She was born on August 6, 1930 at Pilot, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,2 As of June 16, 1951,her married name was Duncan.² She married Paul Allen Duncan, son of Oscar Eddie Duncan and Myrtle Annie Walters, on June 16, 1951 at Pilot, Montgomery Co., Virginia.^1,4,2 ElFreeda McNeil died on May 25, 2013 at Virginia at age 82.¹ She ElFreeda McNiel Duncan, 82, of Christiansburg, and of Florida, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 25, 2013. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Samuel and Eugenia Whitenack McNiel; as well as siblings, Glenna Manning, Luetta Gregory, Marian Lancaster, and Samuel McNiel. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Paul A. Duncan; sons, Gary A. Duncan and wife, Rhonda, Gerald E. Duncan and wife, Sharon, David P. Duncan and wife Edith-Anne; daughter, Martha D. Miller and husband, Eugene; grandchildren, Nicole Miller Yarbrough and husband Steven, Tiffany N. Miller, Jason Hopkins, Courtney Hopkins, Eddie Duncan, Jake Duncan, Georgia-Kathryn Duncan, and Paul Samuel Duncan; and sister, Opal Conner and husband, Banks. ElFreeda was born on August 6, 1930, graduated from Check High School, and received her degree from National Business College. She was a faithful member of Blacksburg United Methodist Church and enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, reading, cooking, hunting sea shells (especially at Fort Myers, FL), bluegrass music and was an avid fan of Virginia Tech sports. One of her greatest joys was taking care of her family. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Blacksburg United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Reggie Tuck and the Rev. Fred Austin officiating. There will be a private immediate family interment in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg.      Clay Leonard Altice was buried at Altice Cemetery, Dove Field Road, Glade Hill, Franklin Co., Virginia.² He was born on July 22, 1940 at Franklin Co., Virginia.^1,2,3 He married Loretta McBride, daughter of Lewis Leonard McBride and Edith Estelle Graham, on June 24, 1960 at Franklin Co., Virginia.^4,5,1 Clay Leonard Altice died on September 18, 2023 at Virginia at age 83.² He Clay Leonard Altice, surrounded by his family, passed peacefully to his heavenly home on Monday, September 18, 2023. He was born on July 22, 1940 to parents Leonard and Eva Altice. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Kenneth Altice and Jan Altice. He is survived by his wife Loretta, his sons Greg Altice (Peggy) and Gary Altice, his grandchildren Hannah Altice and Sean Altice (Sele), his brother Justin Altice (Janet), his sisters-in-law Ann Altice and Colleen Altice, and his brother-in-law Roger McBride (Renae). Clay and Loretta spent 63 years loving each other. They worshipped, traveled, shopped together, and enjoyed time with their family and many friends. Clay loved old cars. He collected them and went to many car shows. He worked for 36 years at AEP. He loved his church and was an usher for as long as he was able. The family is very grateful for all the care and support provided by his friends, his caregivers and Hospice. Interment to follow in the Altice Cemetery on Dove Field Road in Glade Hill. on September 20, 2023.²
