In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Harley Bradbury; four siblings, Randolph Mathena, Ella Six, Emma Belcher and Basil Mathena; and one grandson, Scott Chaffins. Survivors include three daughters, Diane Taylor and fiancé Billy Parker of Princeton, Glenna Whitt and husband Dewey of Hanover, Pa., and Jackie Phillips and husband Darrell of Forest, Va; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Jessie Morris of Princeton, Willis Mathena and wife Bonnie of Princeton, and Wilfred Mathena and wife Cuzzie of Bluefield; several special nieces and nephews. On Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at 12:00 noon, we will celebrate the life of Annie Bradbury from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor John Branham officiating. Born March 4, 1929, at Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Hazel Poff Mathena. Mrs. Six was a retired employee for the Mercer County Board of Education, retiring as the cafeteria manager for the Knob Elementary School with 18 years of service. She was a member of the First Church of God on Mahood Avenue in Princeton where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. In 1986 she was named Teacher of the Year; in 1970, she was selected by the Church Family to be named the Mother of the Year, was a former member of the Finance and Stewardship Committee, was a life member of the Women of the Church of God and was a lifelong resident of Princeton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Harold Six; a daughter, Connie Jo Six and a brother, Randolph Mathena. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Six of Princeton; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Patty) Ball of Princeton and Mrs. Eric (Janice) Hodge of Renick; four grandchildren, Lee and Kala Six and Joseph and Erica Hodge; three sisters, Emma Belcher and Jessie Morris, both of Princeton and Mrs. Harley (Annie) Bradbury of Fla. and three brothers, Basil and Willis Mathena, both of Princeton and Wilfred Mathena of Bluefield Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. from the Burns-Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with the Revs. Terry Morgan, Bob Herdman, and Buster Kestner officiating. Burial will be in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Bluefield-Princeton Road. on August 30, 1990.6

Death was attributed to accidental drowning in a bathtub, following a epileptic seizure. Born in Princeton, he was a son of Hazel Poff Mathena of Princeton and the late Joseph Sidney Mathena. He was a member of the First Church of God on Mahood Avenue, Princeton. Survivors in addition to his mother include four sisters, Mrs. Emma Belcher, Mrs. Harley (Anna) Bradbury, Mrs. Harold (Ella) Six, and Mrs. James (Jessie) Morris, all of Princeton; three brothers, Bassil Mathena, Willis Mathena, both of Princeton and Wilfred Mathena of Bluefield. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. at Burns Wornal Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Rev. Clarence E. Dillon and Rev. Dennis Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery, Princeton. Pallbearers will be Steven Belcher, Darrell Mathena, Kenneth Six, Matthew Morris, Sidney Mathena, Jeff Mathena, Tim Snead and John Snead. Friends and neighbors will serve as flowerbearers. on May 4, 1980.3
