She is preceded in death by her parents; Ammon McDonald and Dorothy Jones McDonald, grandson; Mitchell Simmons, sister; Sandra Maxey. She is survived by loving husband of 54 years William (Billy) Mitchell Sr., daughters and sons-in-law; Veronica and Loyd Simmons, Paula and David Linkenhoker, son and daughter-in-law; William Robert Mitchell Jr. and Crystal, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.³ She was born on October 30, 1948 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,2,3 As of April 10, 1965,her married name was Mitchell.¹ She married William Robert Mitchell Sr., son of William Donald Mitchell and Callie Rama Hall, on April 10, 1965 at Roanoke, Virginia.^1,3 Deidra Gayle McDonald died on April 12, 2019 at Virginia at age 70.³

     Betty Jean Mitchell With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Betty Jean Mitchell Guthrie, age 85, who peacefully left the world and was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 12, 2024. Betty was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love was felt by all who knew her. Betty was born on April 7, 1939. She was a pillar of strength for her family, always offering guidance, love, and support. She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Albert Guthrie Sr; her brother, William Mitchell; her son, Albert Guthrie Jr; daughter, Tammy Howell, and son-in-law, Michael Howell. She also leaves behind three grandchildren and three adoring great-grandchildren who will forever carry her memory.
