Spuds was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving as a Gunnery Sgt. during the Korean Conflict. He worked at the Marietta Plant and was also a towboat engineer. He was also a member of the First Church of God, in Point Pleasant. Spuds was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish and walk his beloved Henderson. He also enjoyed his garden, usually sharing his grown bounty with others. He never knew a stranger and helped run Arnold's Place after his parents passed. All the kids in town he treated as his own and loved them all the same. Spuds was born on December 4, 1929, in Point Pleasant, a son to the late Arnold and Mildred Rose (Lee) Watson. Dwight, a man with a heart of gold, left behind a legacy that touched the lives of many. He was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back without hesitation, always putting others before himself. He possessed an unparalleled ability to make everyone feel valued and cherished. His selflessness and unwavering compassion were a true testament to the extraordinary person he was. Dwight had a special gift for finding joy in the simplest moments and spreading laughter wherever he went. His infectious laugh and playful spirit were a source of comfort and camaraderie to all who knew him. He had a way of brightening even the darkest of days with his quick wit and genuine humor. In addition to his remarkable legacy, Dwight E. Swisher leaves behind a loving family and cherished friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
