Born July 2, 1926 in Pulaski he was the son of the late Harvey William and Daisy Sheppard French. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Olive, three brothers, Samuel French, Frank French, Thomas French, and two sisters, Mildred McDaniel and Parthenia French. He was a member of the United States Army having served during the Korean War. He was a member of the First Church of the Brethren. He had been employed by the former Coleman Furniture and retired from Pulaski Furniture. She was a member of the First Church of The Brethren, Pulaski, a student R.N. Nurse at the Mitchell Community College, Statesville, and a graduate of the Pulaski County High School class of 1975. She was formerly employed at the Pulaski Community Hospital while living in Pulaski. Also surviving are her husband, Percy Johnson "John" Olive, Jr. Statesville, N.C; her daughter Alisha Katherine Buckner, Shawsvilie; one sister, Nancy French Hamilton, Dublin; two brothers, Robert Harve French, Jr., Pulaski, Kenneth Bradley French, Pulaski; her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Daisy French, Wytheville. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the First Church of The Brethren, Pulaski, with the Rev. David Shumate officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin.
