     Her Social Security Number was 240-36-9038.2 Ernestine Morgan was buried at Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News, Virginia.3 Her married name was Coleman.1 She married George Linzie "Jack" Coleman, son of James Nathan "Nate" Coleman and Eleanor Mae Dooley.1,3 Ernestine Morgan was born on July 10, 1917 at Lexington, Davidson Co., North Carolina.3,2 She died on December 24, 1999 at Newport News, Virginia, at age 82.3,4,2 She Ernestine Morgan Coleman, 82, died Friday, Dec. 24, 1999. A native of Lexington, N.C., she had been a resident of Newport News for 30 years. She was a nurse for the Veterans Administration for 23 years and retired from Kecoughtan Medical Center, where she worked as a drug and alcohol rehabilitation nurse. She was an active member of Deer Park Baptist Church and its senior choir. Mrs. Coleman was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Coleman Sr. Survivors include two daughters, Jeanne Covington of Achilles and Donna Drew of Cumberland, R.I; her son, George L. Coleman Jr. of White Marsh; six grandchildren, Deena Mariniak of Newport News, Chris Covington, Michelle Brown and George Coleman III, all of Gloucester, and Jeff Yost and Tanya Rao of Cumberland, R.I; seven great-grandchildren, Michael and Hanna Mariniak, Jacob and Cody Brown, Cheyenne Davis-Covington and Linzie Coleman and Andrea Rao; one sister, Lorraine Thompson of Lexington, N.C; and one brother, John Morgan of Miami. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday by the Rev. Frederick Forry at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. on December 26, 1999.3

     George Linzie Coleman Jr. was buried at Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News, Virginia.2 He was born on January 11, 1947.4 He married Joyce Unknown circa 1968.2 George Linzie Coleman Jr. died on September 24, 2002 at Norfolk, Virginia, at age 55.2 He George L. Coleman Jr., 56, passed away at Norfolk General Hospital on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002.
A native of Hampton Roads, he had been a Gloucester resident for 21 years. He was a U.S. Army highly decorated Vietnam veteran. In 1975, he graduated Cum Laude from Old Dominion University and was owner of Coleman Trucking Inc. He was also a member of Warwick Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his parents, George L. Coleman Sr. and Ernestine M. Coleman. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Joye P. Coleman; daughter, Michelle Coleman Brown, and her husband, Jamie Brown, of Gloucester; son, George L. Coleman III, and his wife, Pam Dishman, of Gloucester; two sisters, Jeanne D. Covington of Gloucester and Donna C. Drew of Rhode Island; four grandchildren, Raymond Spiggle, Jacob Brown, Linzie Coleman and Cody Brown, all of Gloucester; and many nieces and nephews and his beloved companion, Purple Haze.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, P.O. Box 385, Gloucester, VA 23061. on September 27, 2002.2
