Survivors include her husband, Jesse Bennet Newby and an infant son; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Giles of Chatham; two brothers, J. W. Giles of Danville, and Morris L. Giles of Chatham; and one sister, Miss Lena Giles of Chatham. Funeral services are to be conducted from the home of her parents this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Burial will follow in the family cemetery at Fair View community near Chatham. on January 17, 1944.3

Mr. Lewis, 77, of 515 Second St., died yesterday morning shortly after midnight at his home after a two-month illness. A native of Keeling, he had lived in Danville for many years and was employed by Dan River Mills for 30 years until his retirement in 1950. Born March 25, 1885, he was the
son of the late Mary Lewis Lovelace and Robert Lewis. He married the former Ossie Newby Dec. 25, 1903. Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Pansy Vhite of Keeling, Mrs. Louise Talbott, Mrs. Pricie Whitt, both if Danville; four sons, Ernest Edward Lewis and Hughie Thomas Lewis, both of Danville, Elisha W. Lewis of New York, and Otis Lee Lewis of Durham. N.C. and 23 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. on June 21, 1962.2
