She was a life-long member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Rustburg, where she was the church organist since 1964. She also served as the Treasurer, Secretary, Sunday School Teacher and Choir Director. June graduated from the Virginia Commercial College in 1954, was a former employee of the People's Bank, Campbell County Schools and retired from the Department of Corrections as a Secretary. She is survived by a son, William Alfred Hankla, Jr. and his wife, Marye Ann; a daughter, Lisa H. Dawson and her husband, Sammy all of Rustburg; three grandchildren, Daniel Hankla, Greg Dawson and his fiance', Brittany Goff and Ben Dawson; three sisters, Dale T. Morris of Rustburg, Ann T. Reid and her husband Don of Rustburg and Merle T. Alvis and her husband Harry of Lynchburg; a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Catterton of Garden City, South Carolina; and three life-long friends, Elizabeth Williams, Alese Burks and Frances White. Also surviving is a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Rustburg by Pastor Jim Galford. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the residence. The family suggests that those wishing to make memorials; "Do as June would do; go do a good deed for someone less fortunate than yourself" or consider the Mount Zion United Methodist Church, 5662 Red House Road, Rustburg, VA 24588. on January 30, 2013.2

He is survived by his daughter, Jamie Owens; three sons, Eddie Owenby (Debbie), Tracy Owenby and Bob Owenby (Sherry); nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.      Richard Earl Reynolds was buried at Mountain View Cemetery, 1300 Mountain View Road, Vinton, Roanoke Co., Virginia.4 He was born on April 24, 1938 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.3 He married Sylvia Elaine Walker on March 3, 1962 at Bexar Co., Texas.4,6 Richard Earl Reynolds died on February 10, 2017 at Virginia at age 78.4 He Retired Army Sergeant First Class Richard Earl Reynolds, 78, of Vinton, Va., went to be with the Lord on Friday evening, February 10, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Alfred Reynolds and Louise Chewning Reynolds. Richard served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1976 and met his wife, Sylvia Reynolds, while stationed in San Antonio, Texas. After retiring from the army, he worked as a nurse at the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center, was a long-time member of the Vinton First Aid Crew, and was a member of Vinton Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sylvia; his three daughters, Debbie Marsh and her husband, Bobby, Terry Hough and her husband, Mark, and Denise Spangler and her husband, Greg; his two sisters, Brenda Adams and her husband, Doug, and Anita Reynolds; his seven grandchildren; his five great-grandchildren; and his beloved puppy, Brandy. Richard was a hero to his nation and a hero to his family. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. on February 13, 2017.4

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louise Chewning Reynolds and Richard Reynolds; and her brother, Richard Earl Reynolds. Surviving to cherish her memory is her husband of 49 years, Doug "Ike" Adams; sister, Anita Reynolds; daughter, Donna Phillips and husband, Buck; son, Mike Adams and wife, Tiffany; grandkids, Autumn Collins and husband, Robert, Michael Douglas Adams and wife, Megan, Jeremy Adams, and Blake Adams; special great-granddaughter, Alex Collins; sister-in-law, Sylvia Reynolds; special nieces, Debbie Marsh, Terry Hough and Denise Spangler and their families; extended family, Tosha, Michelle, Jaysen, Noah and Gabe; aunt, Vestine Chewning; and a host of cousins. Brenda lived her entire life in Vinton and finished her working career with Chas. Lunsford Sons & Associates. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor and her unconditional love for her family.      Irvin Douglas "Doug" Adams Jr. was buried at Mountain View Cemetery, 1300 Mountain View Road, Vinton, Roanoke Co., Virginia.3 He was born on May 15, 1949 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.2,4 He married Brenda Gail Reynolds, daughter of Richard Alfred Reynolds and Frances Louise Chewning, on June 13, 1970 at Vinton, Roanoke Co., Virginia.1,2,5,6 Irvin Douglas "Doug" Adams Jr. died on January 22, 2020 at Virginia at age 70.3 He Irvin "Doug" Adams Jr., 70, of Vinton, Va., went to be with the Lord and his beloved wife, Brenda, on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin Sr. and Emma Adams and his sisters, Vera Gillespie and Gloria Straatmann. His memory continues through his sisters-in-law, Anita Reynolds and Sylvia Reynolds; children, Donna Phillips and husband, Buck; son, Mike Adams and wife, Tiffany; grandkids, Autumn and husband, Robert, Michael Douglas and wife, Megan, Jeremy, and Blake; great-granddaughter, Alex; nieces, Michelle, Patricia, Susan, Debbie, Terry and Denise; extended family, Tosha, Michelle, Jaysen, Noah and Gabe; and a host of cousins. Doug spent his professional career with Dayco Products. He served his beloved community of Vinton through his work on the Vinton Town Council, Vinton First Aid Crew and Vinton Breakfast Lions Club. A special note of thanks to Liz at Fresenius and Michelle S. on 8 South at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. on January 22, 2020.3
